  Great value and wonderful hospitality We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Santa Monica while celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary and visiting our daughter at UCLA. The room was clean, everything felt fresh and new, and the shower had great water pressure. The amenities were practical and worked well. Breakfast was good and included, and the competitive room rate made it a great value overall. The hospitality really stood out. A special thank-you to David at the front desk for his warm welcome and fantastic service. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by another night. A comfortable, welcoming place that made our anniversary and family visit all the more special!

  Gutes Hotel mit freundlichem Personal. Besonders das Personal beim Frühstück war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Zimmer sind relativ klein aber sauber. Es fehlt leider eine Klobürste auf der Toilette. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück ist gut und variiert. Leider war das Zimmer direkt an der Autobahn mit einer Baustelle daneben. Die Fenster sind nicht besonders gut isoliert und man hat quasi ungefiltert die Straße gehört. Die Location ist aber gut, da man von hier aus alles Nennenswerte direkt erreichen kann.

  There were three experiences that affected our visit. 1. Our first hotel room had wet carpets, possibly from a damaged A/C unit. We requested to be placed in a new room, which the hotel lobby staff kindly helped us find a new room. They filled the room with a new person the following day. Not sure if the A/C unit was fixed, but hopefully it was to prevent another person from experiencing a humid room. [Rm. 219] 2. The following day upon arriving to the new room we did not receive any housekeeping or even new towels for the room. Apparently they did not do housekeeping at all on Fridays. This wasn't stated online or to us at the beginning of the stay, so we couldn't plan ahead or have the staff to place extras for us. 3. The last situation was one of the staff kept pressuring my wife and friend to leave a review IMMEDIATELY. They kept trying to notify them that the review can be done at a later time as my wife didn't have her phone. Our friend from had her phone but is from abroad with minimal ability to speak/understand English. The staff continued to pressure them to leave a review anyways for about 5 minutes until they felt uncomfortable and left the dining area.

  === Top-notch service, easy parking, made our trip smooth === + Very close to UCLA for any parents coming for your college kids (admit day, orientation, move-in, parents weekend, etc.) + David and Marigold were standouts when it came to service -- most great hosts do a decent job taking care of you but these two really seem to enjoy getting to know guests and helping them out. I was in the area a month ahead of our stay and needed to know how big the parking spots were and they went above and beyond to help out. + Free canned drinks on ice in the lobby were especially appreciated. + Even for UCLA move-in (PACKED), they had plenty of parking. Yes, you pay for it nightly, but many places don't even have the parking. + Rooms are comfortable and give enough space. We especially appreciated the luggage counter in the room that allowed for 3-4 suitcases to be opened side by side. + Plenty of outlets in the room. + I left before I could try it but my wife had the free breakfast and was impressed. ++ TONS of restaurants nearby -- the Sawtelle district is one block away! We tried half a dozen restaurants in our few days there! * There's construction nearby but I don't consider this a negative because we NEVER heard it! I don't know it was just our schedule being lucky or the soundproofing being especially good. A lot of things going for this place but David and Marigold were what made this hotel stand out from the rest.

  Over the last sixty years, my family have stayed at Holiday Inns from coast to coast. Some of my best memories are vacations that included Holiday Inn. For the Cinecon Classic Film Festival, I wanted to take a tour of this location because of its proximity to the Nu Art Theater and because of my wonderful past experiences with this company. There are a few other hotels in the area that wanted me to book with them but I decided to make a call and get a tour of this location. I couldn’t have been more pleased. Kathrine, manager of the Holiday Inn Express, was as cordial and professional as possible. Based on her kindness and willingness to assist me as the festival would be booking many rooms with attendees flying in from all over the country and Canada. The day of the tour, David was on hand and gave us a fantastic guided excursion of the property. After his excellent handling, I called Katherine and made the arrangements. Forty five rooms were eventually booked and each guest was treated like they were the most important person in the world. When I checked in, Amanda was so delightful in greeting me and throughout my week at the hotel, she asked me how the event was doing and if there was anything she could do to make my accommodations better. They were perfect but she was so sweet to make sure I was happy. Luis at the front desk kept calling me “Sir” and he was as professional as anyone I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. The room was large and very comfortable. There is a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. A great shower with nice water pressure and the air conditioning is wonderful. Breakfast which is complementary contained a wider than expected selection complete with an automatic pancake making machine. When I mentioned to Amanda that I am diabetic, she called my room to tell me that she arranged for Zero sugar syrup to be in the breakfast room for me every morning. So many people were using the zero sugar syrup, it was restocked. What an incredible gesture. During the festival, someone at the Nu Art walked off with a personal item that meant a lot to the attendees and me. One of the film patrons went to the hotel to let the front desk know of the situation. Upon hearing of the theft, Rebecca indicated that she saw someone come into the hotel with the item. As soon as that happened, she was able to locate the missing item and she and David retrieved it. David came to the theater to bring it back to us and there were cheers for him. The person who took the item apologized for the error but it was Rebecca that saved the day. The item was our Film Festival’s stuffed Dog; our mascot. I went to the hotel to personally thank Rebecca and she said to me that she saw my kindness to all the festival attendees all week and was so happy to have helped. She was modest but I won’t ever forget it. The entire staff from Katherine, the front desk crew, housekeeping and the breakfast team have all my respect. I told Katherine that we will be booking rooms again for next year’s festival and that they will be invited to attend when time permits them. The staff at the Holiday Inn Express is the finest I’ve encountered at any hotel. This will be our Host Hotel for the next several years to come. I can’t recommend this location enough. It really feels like a home away from home. If you are fortunate to meet Katherine, Amanda, Rebecca, David and Luis, it’s a guarantee that you will feel welcomed and pampered
