IHG is suppose to be a higher quality hotel stay, but this place is not. We had various issues. They dont stock the rooms with more than two towels or bedding for the sleeper when your reservation is for more people. The hot tub was broken. The breakfast was well stocked, but cold eggs, sausages and tater tots. No juice except cranberry. They do have cinnabons, but they were very cold. Not a satisfying breakfast.

I am in town visiting some friends that live in Visalia. The Visalia HIE was much more expensive, so I thought I would try this one that is only 5 minutes farther from my friends' house. I saw the mixed reviews and was nervous. I stayed for 3 nights on the 3rd floor near the elevator, facing the back of the property. The hotel looks recently renovated. Everything looked fresh, clean, and in good repair. I checked in late, after 10pm, and the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. My room was clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. I read other reviews that mentioned insects in the room, and I didn't see a single bug. The front desk guy told me the bed was new and it felt new. It was one of the most comfortable hotel mattresses I've slept on. The only thing not in perfect working order in my room was all 4 of the USB plugs were damaged, but I have regular plug adapters with me, so it wasn't an issue. The other not-the-best thing about my room was you can hear the hallway noise clear as day. Luckily, the hallway was quiet all night, but as soon as people started getting up and housekeeping started their rounds, it got fairly loud. There is no sleeping in at this hotel.
I feel like this location is family owned and operated. There were always people lounging in the public areas, giving the hotel a more welcoming feel than most other HIEs I've stayed in. There were also a few little quirks that made me knock off a star. The breakfast area wasn't kept stocked throughout breakfast. I came down an hour before breakfast ended to find not much left. The pancake machine was down my whole stay, which is my favorite part of HIE breakfast. The trash was overflowing. They needed staff to rotate into the breakfast area more frequently and swap out dishes before they get totally empty. They were refilled around the time I finished, but too little too late for me. The trash was still overflowing when I came back down to leave a half hour later. The other quirk is the parking. I ended up parking behind the building one night amd came in through the back gate by the pool. The next morning at ariund 10am, I tried to get back to my car the same way and that gate was locked, so I had to walk all the way around the building on a hot summer day. Not the worst thing in the world, but weird.
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

It's my favorite Hotel in Town super clean elegant excellent breakfast and it was safe. Was a customer, been there many times loved Tulare due to how small the city is and very magical. The trees are very unique and it's as if you were in a nice fairytale book. But this last time was my nightmare and it shouldn't have been like this the actions were very evil and non professional as if I was worst than in Compton and believe me I know Compton and lived there and not even this happens in Compton. The manager was upset doe to I extended and this is how I normally do it with them when I extend the next day well since I didn't go downstairs to the front desk he came knocking on my door demanding to leave that I'm trespassing and I was very surprised in a sad matter. Well I put it out there that they owe me free night and he said he will refund me back my money well he gave me 30 minutes to pack and leave or else he will call the cops. I said go ahead I never thought he was really because why call the cops if we all know we didn't trespassed the property I figured he was just talking mad, well he did it was the worst day and night of my life I never get arrested nor have a record or any arrest record or bad background and this is very personal I'm not going to mentioned in here but I have trauma due to this humiliation and evil act. Like I mentioned I was a customer and now I can't sleep and have nightmares and questioned why me? Why this happened to me? Now I have this on my name and I want my name cleared not fair. Where's the safe and protection in feeling welcomed and know that you're in good hands with people that cared. Now I can't say that about them and I don't understand how Holiday Inn can do this to me I think I get treated better at Motel 6 and way cheaper and no deposits! So expensive so this can happened? I don't think so! Well I'm not bad person nor was disrespectful. If anything I'd hope the cameras show the reality what happened that day. It breaks my heart that nothing is free in that hotel and to get treated that way it breaks my heart so deep. Now I'm not to step foot and that's OK I don't want to be there to not feel safe. I'm sorry for whatever I did but I know I didn't do anything and this should have taken differently well mannered and polite. Customer service is a big plus for me this isn't that. I want to clear everything and to dropped my charges Is considered a misdemeanor but I'm not letting this in my personal record. I'm 45 yes old and to have my first arrest like this ad for something I didn't commit I want justice. Sincerely Martha Elena Valdovinos
