- RAReda Aboukhalil4 days ago1.0Went to Tahoe with a few friends and my friend woke up with a cockroach or bed bug on his bed (lmk from the video). Safe to say one of the last times I stay at a Best Western by choice. Booked july 3 and 4, and we didn’t stay the night of july 4 after seeing this and their resolution was not charging us for the night we didn’t end up staying after having the cockroach/bed bug in our bed. Not the happiest with the outcome. (we paid 300 for only staying july 3rd even though the whole reason we went to tahoe was to stay for july 4th which we ended up having to figure things out with friends/driving 3 hours back home on july 4th)

The natural stone and wood exterior gives it a mountain‑lodge vibe that fits perfectly with Truckee and Tahoe. My room was spacious—possibly because it was a wheelchair‑accessible layout—and included a fridge, microwave, and a proper desk. I didn’t use the kitchen amenities, but the desk setup was great for getting a bit of work done. The property features a large outdoor pool and hot tub, which is a nice bonus in this area. Breakfast is served cafeteria‑style in the dedicated breakfast room and was perfectly decent for a hotel in this category. Location is one of the biggest strengths: just a few minutes from downtown Truckee, and a short drive to Lake Tahoe and several ski resorts. Very convenient if you’re exploring the region. Overall, a comfortable and well‑located place to stay with a friendly, mountain‑lodge atmosphere.
