  Strange odor in rooms...under construction so no first floor room access. Nice location in relationship to area. BUT reception staff very ditzy.....Danni really not in tune w set up of hotel. The evening staff a bit better but hotel accomodations not initially available, computer etc. If TownePlace Suites around the corner available and reasonable.... use them instead. By far, nicer place to stay.

  This has been our go to hotel when passing through Tehachapi east and west every year, sometimes two to three times a year but after yesterdays experience, no more. There are two other great hotels in town to stay at. What happened to the professional, friendly staff you used to have? Yesterday we arrived, heard employees talking personal life and laughing (nice to hear) just around the wall from the front desk. We waited and waited and waited for someone to come out and greet us, help us, check us in. When a lady finally did, she said, "I just got here". Yeah right as you have been here over 11 mins and then some but of course I didn't say that. She had a chip on her shoulder, wasn't friendly, couldn't wait to get us out of her hair, etc. Didn't give us any info on what was open, if breakfast was occurring and if so, what time (never did find out), if any stairs could be used or not, pool, fitness, etc. She asked for name, license, cc and then gave us our keys and that was it. Talk about cold and unprofessional. I went back later to ask a question and she was having a personal conversation with an employee at the front desk. I waited a good five minutes and was never acknowledged or told, "I will be right with you". I finally left as I didn't have all day to wait for her to finish her personal business. This morning when I walked by, the young gentleman at the front desk greeted me and was very professional. He is definitely a keeper. This is how your employees should be, but that chick yesterday (last night) definitely wasn't even close. So not welcoming and made me want to cancel and go elsewhere but I was too tired to do that. Lessoned learned. Floor of the room was sticky and dirty. Otherwise, room was comfortable once it finally cooled off. When it's 100 degrees out, you should have a/c on or at least the fan running to make room comfortable for welcoming guests! It is a great location. Was hoping to use pool but had no idea if it was opened or not, not sure if towels were available to use etc as employee was too busy with her personal life to inform us. Wasn't greeted as a member not that I care or offered any water.

  Left their front desk abandoned for 30+ min. Was unable to check in and had to move to a different hotel
