  10 stars if I could Nice and clean Nice and quiet Pool and jacuzzi was open It was a vibe!! Rooms could be just a little bit bigger but I'm not complaining Oh and no balcony I really like how the hotel staff is not strict . Not that any one is doing anything wrong but they just let you be you not all up in your business A+ for privacy !!

  Highlight: I was expecting a very important package during my stay, but it arrived much later than expected. The people at the front desk coordinated to accept the package and replace the stickers with ones I had purchased. I scheduled a pick up and successfully forwarded the package with the help of the very accommodating staff. The room was clean and had the amenities I required. That being said, I didn't need a microwave, but be aware that there is an extra charge for access to one. My room was in the tower suite area which had a secure feel. Despite being close to a busy interstate, the noise wasn't an issue in this inner room of the building. Payment is required for parking. The inn's grounds are quite nice to walk around and appeared to be regularly patrolled by security. My dog enjoyed walking around the grounds but would like to trade the turf for true grass (that's hard to maintain, of course). The location was perfect for quick access to the Van Nuys Airport, and there's a very nice dog park nearby. Just be aware that during busy traffic hours, particularly around 3-6PM, it's extremely difficult to turn left out of the parking lot. If you do find yourself stuck, Manuel at the on-site Denny's is great to have a chat with about California life and a top-notch server.

  Unfortunately, I was not very impressed with my stay. There was a lot of street noise, as well as noise from the nearby highway, and it was difficult to get a quiet night’s sleep. The ventilation system was poor, and the AC was quite loud. There was also a constant humming noise coming from the wall in the room, which was noticeable throughout the stay. The bathroom felt outdated and was not very clean. There was visible black, dirty residue around the bathtub, which was unpleasant. The carpet in the room also did not feel clean and had several dark stains. The bed was average at best and not particularly comfortable. Another concern was security. The rooms open directly to the outside, which did not make the property feel very secure, especially with the amount of noise and activity around the hotel. Parking costs about $14 per night, and there are no assigned spaces, so you simply park wherever you can find an available spot. Overall, the cleanliness, noise level, room condition, and security concerns made the stay less comfortable than expected.

  Everything was perfect from the time we arrived- the nice girl at the check in counter (I didn't catch her name- but she was very sweet, informative and professional...and gave us a welcome bag with goodies in it for being rewards members). The room was spotless. The TV was easy to navigate...there was a Keurig in the room with optional K-cups to use, plus a couple of waters in the fridge. Plenty of towels. Parking right at the room (we got lucky w/that- although they do hit you with a parking fee - $13.94 with 3 separate taxes... but that's LA for ya!). My wife was scheduled for a surgery at UCLA Med Center the following morning (another 5-star experience for another review), so it was comforting to have a stress-free arrival and stay. This was our 2nd time at this hotel, and we'd book here again. But the best part: I used my BW Rewards points so this stay was free! (except for that pesky parking thingy).

  Overall, I had a great experience here and would absolutely stay again. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff was extremely kind and welcoming. The hotel grounds were also very clean and appeared to be maintained daily. Housekeeping was offered daily, with the option to opt out if you prefer to conserve resources. If you’re visiting LA with a car, I think this hotel is an especially great value. Having on-site parking was incredibly convenient, and the parking rate was very reasonable compared with many of the other hotels I looked at. The hotel itself was also very reasonably priced for the location and amenities. The room had a good-sized refrigerator and an optional microwave, which was really convenient, and the Wi-Fi was reliable enough for me to get work done during my stay. There’s also a Denny’s right on-site, which was another huge convenience. The food was really good, the staff was great, and it was just a nice little spot to have available without needing to drive anywhere or figure out another meal option. I also felt very safe and comfortable staying here, including coming and going from the hotel on my own. The surrounding area felt perfectly fine to me, and I never felt uneasy during my stay. I had seen a review mention street noise, but personally, I didn’t find it to be an issue. This is a busy city, so of course you’ll occasionally hear traffic, someone honking, or a siren. The hotel cannot control life outside the grounds. There is also a fire station a couple of blocks away, so an occasional siren is to be expected. I spent time in the room during the day and was also up pretty late at night, and the noise never bothered me. At night, I hardly noticed it at all, and anything I did hear was easily drowned out by the TV. The location was another big plus. There’s a Target within easy walking distance, gas stations across the street, a convenience/liquor store nearby, and a Ralphs about a mile away. There’s also a Japanese garden less than a five-minute drive away, which was really nice to have so close by. About a mile south, there are plenty of shops and restaurants as well as a movie theater, so there are plenty of things nearby if you want a more relaxed day without venturing farther into LA. It was also a really convenient home base for exploring the city. Depending on traffic, I was roughly 25 minutes from Santa Monica and the beach, about 17 minutes from the Getty, around 25 minutes from Hollywood, and conveniently located for visiting Universal Studios. I drove to some places and used Uber for others, and I found both options pretty manageable and reasonably priced from the hotel. For anyone coming to LA for Universal Studios or just looking for a comfortable and affordable home base for exploring different parts of the city, especially if you have a car, I think this hotel is a great bang for your buck. The combination of the price, affordable parking, convenient location, clean and comfortable rooms, amenities, and genuinely friendly staff made it a great stay. I was very happy with my experience and am honestly looking forward to staying here again the next time I’m in LA.
