  Hotel is ok. Local area not great. They do not put coffee or coffee machines in the rooms as standard. At $500 a night it’s a basic right to have access to coffee in the morning in your room.

  We had a wonderful stay at Viceroy Santa Monica and were very happy with the hotel overall. Everything was very clean, the room was beautiful, housekeeping was done every day, and the towels were changed daily. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience during breakfast, mainly because of a server named Maria. We waited about 30 minutes for someone to come to our table, even though Maria walked past us several times and served guests who arrived after us. When we finally asked her ourselves for a menu, she was very unfriendly. While taking our order, she seemed irritated, raised her voice, and was unwilling to answer our questions. We waited about 40 minutes for our food, and when it finally arrived, there were no utensils, so we had to wait several more minutes for those as well. This experience really affected what should have been a pleasant breakfast. We also noticed that Maria was unfriendly toward other guests as well.

  Really nice hotel situated across the street from Santa Monica Beach and a short bus ride from downtown (or a few blocks walk). Not as luxurious as some of the other hotels I've stayed at in LA but the proximity to the beach can't be beaten in this location.

  The hotel itself is lovely, with very comfortable and well-detailed rooms, great amenities, a beautiful pool, and a super convenient location. However, I was disappointed by the food quality at the restaurant. I ordered a pizza that was clearly frozen and reheated, and the other dishes ordered by my party felt like the same low quality. The restaurant simply does not match the high standards of the hotel. Overall a great stay, but I’m taking off one star because of the dining experience.

  A group of friends and I rented a cabana for the day. OMG what a great time! The check in process was welcoming and smooth, and set the tone. The cabana was perfect, festively decorated, super comfortable, a nice tv, outlets and a minifridge. The pool got sun all day until about 5pm. The bright point was definitely the service by all but especially Maria who took care of us most of the day. She was so attentive, kind and fun. I hope we can requests her next time we are coming back because we will. THANK YOU!
