The Best Western Capistrano is in an ideal location for making visits to the San Juan Capistrano Mission, Dana Point, Newport Beach, San Clemente, and many other coastal attractions.
They are in the process of updating their room interiors and I had the opportunity to enjoy one of their recently updated rooms. They have a very contemporary appearance, with great lighting, tasteful furniture, and well-appointed decor.
I'm appreciative of the ample number of electrical outlets and USB Ports provided as well as the wide variety of media options provided on their new televisions, including many well-known streaming services.
You'll also find the in-room amenities, such as the refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, blow dryer, etc. to all be of good quality and well-maintained.
I prefer my room to be on the cooler side, and the air-conditioning did NOT disappoint whatsoever :)
I encourage you to book a stay soon and enjoy the value that comes when traveling with Best Western!
Very nice, affordable hotel. Older, but clean rooms with a microwave and mini fridge. Free breakfast buffet. Pool and jacuzzi. About 1/2 a mile from downtown San Juan Capistrano. Friendly, welcoming staff. I had a very enjoyable stay

I booked this hotel for my long fourth of July weekend and it was the most economical and had the best location to the areas I wanted to visit. I only checked the reviews after I booked and I was concerned, thank go I have not experienced any of what the negative posters mentioned. The rooms are nicely remodeled and clean as it the white linens are bright white and the room smelled like cleaning products upon entering. The bed is comfy and the room has a chase lounge and a matching chair. I definitely recommend it.

My stay was unacceptable due to numerous maintenance, cleanliness, and safety issues that significantly impacted my experience.
Upon entering the room, I found it to be in an unsanitary condition. There were brown splatter stains on the bathroom door and the living room wall. The carpet smelled strongly of animal urine, and there was visible mold in the shower.
Several serious maintenance and safety issues were also present. The sliding glass door had no functioning lock, creating a significant security concern. The fire alarm had a dead battery and emitted low battery alerts. In addition, a random alarm sounded at approximately 3:00 a.m., disrupting my sleep. Construction began around 6:30 a.m. during my stay, creating excessive noise early each morning.
The room's amenities also failed to function properly. The internet service was inoperable, the television repeatedly froze, and there was no hot water available for showering.
I reported these issues to the front desk during my stay. I was told that the hotel was understaffed and currently training new employees. Despite notifying staff of these problems, none of the issues were resolved before the end of my stay.
I paid for a clean, safe, and functional hotel room but instead received accommodations that failed to meet basic standards of cleanliness, maintenance, security, and guest comfort.

My husband and I recently had the opportunity to stay at the best western San Juan Capistrano in a King Room featuring a balcony.
Upon arrival, we found the room to be impeccably clean and well-maintained, which was highly appreciated. However, we did note that the interior decor and furnishings appeared somewhat dated. While the bed provided a comfortable level of firmness, we found the pillows to be exceptionally flat and lacking adequate support.
A significant inconvenience arose on Saturday morning when we discovered there was no hot water available for showering. As we were leaving for the days activities we overheard staff members discussing efforts to repair the hot water heater. A proactive communication or notification regarding this temporary issue would have been extremely helpful, as the sudden absence of hot water was quite disruptive to our morning routine. Furthermore, we observed that the shower enclosure could benefit from some attention, as the glazing near the drain on the shower base was noticeably chipped.
In contrast to these points, we were thoroughly impressed with the quality and selection of the hotel breakfast, and the dining area was consistently clean. The staff members we encountered throughout our stay were uniformly polite, accommodating, and contributed positively to our experience.
We also wished to mention that the hotel's entrance proved a little challenging to locate initially, being somewhat tucked away. Clearer signage or more explicit directions might assist future guests in finding it without difficulty, as we had to make a U-turn after passing it.
Despite these observations, the hotel's prime location proved to be exceptionally convenient for us. Its close proximity to the Mission and various local attractions, particularly as we were in town for a wedding, was a significant advantage, making many destinations easily accessible by foot.
