Where History Meets the Moment
Warwick San Francisco hotel is a captivating reflection of the city in which it resides, striking a perfect balance between authentic history and modern hospitality. Ideally located just steps from bustling Union Square, the Theatre District, and its world-class shopping and landmark attractions, this luxury boutique hotel is a residential-style hideaway in downtown San Francisco.
The hotel itself was ok. It’s a bit older but clean. Front desk staff was friendly each day when we left & arrived back in the evenings.
A few issues:
The water was shut off when we arrived & wasn’t back on until 5pm. We were told it would be back on at 2. One of our rooms was not ready 30 minutes after check in time. The front desk then said they would upgrade to a Grande Suite but that’s what we had already paid for. Felt like they were trying to be sneaky about it after I showed them what we had booked. Then comes the “destination fee”. This was explained as $31. The actual amount is $37 per day. So on top of the amount I already paid for 2 rooms, I am being charged another $150. That is unacceptable- I spoke with customer service after seeing the charge but they said nothing could be done. I do not recommend the Warwick due to the shady practices. Spend your money elsewhere

Key card system was broken + no ability to close curtains in room. Great location, friendly staff, and looks beautiful but not worth the frustrations.
Edit: The hotel is claiming below the key card system was fully functional- this is false. There was a line to get everyone's key cards re-established because a bunch of people had their keys suddenly stop working at the same time. We were told it was because they got a new system that's been on the fritz.

The hotel was OK for the price- I definitely wouldn't consider this a 4 star hotel. We booked the Grand Suite so we had a larger room, which was nice. There are renovations being done at the hotel but they only impacted us slightly- the water was off during the first day before we checked in. Common areas were nice but our room had a musty smell to it. 2 TVs in our room but only 1 worked. Room phone never worked even after I let the front desk know. The area borders the Tenderloin and can get really sketchy with the homeless population- we weren't bothered in particular but need to be aware of your surroundings at all times when arriving and leaving the hotel. We didn't have a bad stay, but given the choice I would not stay there again.

I had a blast staying at this hotel with a couple of my friends, the wines were lovely and the front desk service was very accommodating. Will definitely stay again if I had the opportunity, but the interior room layout had that vintage yet comfortable vibes. Would recommend!!!

Much better than any other hotel I stayed in the area especially for the price. Good value for the money. Room is large. Daily room service. Offer complementary glass of wine everyday. Offer 2 water bottles which is rare for the area along with water in the lobby. Front desk is good and responsive. Close to lot of restaurants and Powell Bart station. Nice view from my room. Good value for the money. Don’t hesitate it if the price is reasonable
