This hotel has SERIOUS air quality issues. This morning I was woken up at 7am by cooking / breakfast odors that lasted for several hours. This evening my room smelled of cigarette smoke and right now it’s 2am and I’ve just been woken up by a strong smell of marijuana smoke. The windows do not open. The AC turns off automatically when the target temperature is reached so the only option for continuous air circulation is to set it to the lowest setting. Very disappointing for such a new - and expensive - hotel. Will not be returning.

Close to the hospital ( reason for trip ), with Ike's sandwiches across the street and a Café relatively close by. Valet is seemless, reception is warm, kind, and professional. Bellhop is exceptional. The coffee barista was warm, sweet, and efficient. Coffee bar - Mon- Fri - 6AM- 3PM. Sat- Sun-630AM- 3PM. Alcohol Bar - Sun - Thurs- 4PM - 10PM regular hours not seasonal, Fri - Sat - 4PM - Midnight. The alcohol barista was professional, sweet, and has fantastic recommendations to suit preferences. Reception was helpful for calling taxi. Room was meticulously clean, well organized space with a view of the bay and city. The pillows were the only thing I don't prefer due to firmness preference, however their pillows are very nice, well cushioned and nice to sleep on. Tile shower with adjustable shower wand, water pressure is good. Electric shutter windows are amazing. The one thing I adore is that the room has such amazing insulation that the entire stay I didn't hear anyone or anything from the adjacent rooms, except the front doors which are heavy duty for security purposes. Food is fantastic and very well balanced. I'd say it's a 5 star feel. Zero stress, zero anxiety, and my perfect stay.

Impecable!

Absolutely an exceptional experience in every way. I will always stay at the Luma whenever I am in San Francisco in the future.
It is expensive, however, as with everything else in San Francisco. there is no self-parking and valet parking is $90 a day plus tip. However, this hotel does not nickel-and-dime you with endless small charges or rip-off things when you get into the room, like $12 bottles of water. (Actually, about the bottles of water, they will give you one, for free, in a beautiful, keepsake aluminum bottle.)
This hotel is really honest about the pricing, and you will be thrilled as long as you recognize that you are in a very expensive area and all of the food and everything around you is going to be expensive.
The rooms themselves are phenomenal: perfect for business travelers, high-tech, exquisitely maintained, and flawlessly clean.
The rooftop bar is awesome, too, with incredible views of the Bay Bridge and the city, but it is not huge and does get crowded very quickly.
Waymo (Google's self-driving taxi service) serves this hotel pretty well (although it does get confused sometimes about where to drop you off) and moves around the city very quickly.
The robots (in the hotel) are adorable, too: strong R2D2 vibes. They share elevators with humans, and are smart enough to back up when you're trying to wheel your luggage into them. They'll deliver food (only until 3pm I think?) as well as drinks to your room.
If you are in San Francisco on business, I absolutely recommend the Luma Hotel (and Waymo, too). A+++

I cannot say enough good things about the friendly staff, management, and service we received during our stay at LUMA.
We had a family member having surgery at UCSF Medical Center on 4th St. that included changing room needs, departure days constantly in flux, and more. They were caring, working with us throughout the process and accommodating our needs at every turn with kindness.
The rooms were comfortable and well appointed with wonderful views, the amenities were a nice addition, the attached restaurant was delicious and staff were amazing, and the location made walking a breeze throughout all of the Mission Bay district and beyond.
We will certainly be back...though hopefully just for a vacation visit next time :).
