  Very disappointing experience with Holiday Inn San Francisco-Golden Gateway and the IHG booking system. While making the reservation through IHG Hotels & Resorts, I specifically booked a package called “Best Flexible Member Exclusive Rate With Breakfast” for 2 adults and 2 children. Nowhere during the booking process was it clearly mentioned that breakfast for a 13-year-old child would NOT be included. After arriving at the hotel, I was shocked to find out that I had to pay an additional $35 per day just for breakfast for one child. This feels extremely misleading and dishonest. If a booking says “2 adults and 2 children” with breakfast included, any reasonable customer would assume breakfast applies to the entire reservation. This is exactly how hotels trick customers into paying hidden extra charges later. The lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially for a well-known brand like Holiday Inn and IHG. Customers should be clearly informed before booking about any age restrictions or extra breakfast charges for children. Very poor customer experience and definitely not what I expected from this hotel chain.

  When it comes to the room accommodations and location, this place is great. But of all Holiday Inn’s we have stayed, this particular branch seems to make us feel unwelcome that it completely ruined our day. We had breakfast last April 6 when a filipino waitress was very rude to us. She had to have a rude tone to ask us about our room number when you can say it in a professional manner. I asked her nicely but what’s with the attitude? Who knows I have to do that? She could have informed us about their breakfast policy. Because we never had to do that on other Holiday Inn’s. She was even very inconsistent because I caught her many times not asking for the room numbers on other guests who have different ethnicity. She’s seems to be only nice to non-filipino customers or guests. This behavior is very unprofessional and shouldn’t be tolerated because it will impact Holiday Inn’s good reputation and quality standards.

  As a traveler who was worried about safety in SF, I found this hotel to be very safe and accessible. The rooms were big and there environment was very calm and peaceful throughout even though it's right next to a main road.

  A great family-friendly hotel for a week’s stay in SF. The room was clean, the view of the city from our window was beautiful, the fitness center sufficed for my workouts, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Location is in a great part of town, lots of good restaurants and coffee spots around the corner on Polk Street. We saw a rainbow out of our window as soon as we got into the room on the first day, and watched the sunrise over the bay every morning before the clouds and fog set in. Absolutely gorgeous!

  Will not recommend this hotel to anybody this hotel carries black mold behind their wallpaper. I try reporting it to Victor Melvin the general manager he did not care. He did not try to accommodate after explaining to him that I had asthma and my asthma had been triggered I immediately had to check out the very next morning. I was promised that I would get my full refund back, but that I would have to contact the third-party which was booking.com. Turned out after checking out I returned back to Southern California. I ended up calling Victor Melvin, which is the manager there at the hotel he stated that he will not give me my refund that it is common for hotels to carry black mode and there would be nothing that he can do about it. I proceeded to ask Victor Melvin, who is reporting supervisor was he stated that he would be the highest point of contact to be able to help me and to resolve this hazardous issue, he would not help me or give me any other person to contact. He ignored my question when asked who he reported to as a supervisor he then got frustrated with me and hung up on me several times. I really hope that this message reaches the right person and our corporate office and he gets reprimanded for it…
