The staff and the manager are absolutely top-notch! I had mistakenly double-booked. I had used a third party app and then couldn't find the confirmation. I then booked directly and found out a check-in that I had two bookings. The manager graciously waived the second booking without charging any fee. Much appreciated!!

Great service and rooms. No issues.
Per usual, I wish the breakfast buffet was labeled with allergen ingredients. Nobody does this, and I hate bothering busy staff. That said, the woman in charge both days was pleasant and helpful and able to answer questions. A better cereal selection would be nice too… the Raisin Bran and cereal with strawberry bits seemed pretty niche. But if you don’t have issues with eating eggs, there’s plenty of other options.
May 2026 I returned to this location after a year some of the same great staff is still working at this location Erica & Lawrence, Jeff assisted us with checking in. This is my favorite location it walking distance to a lot of eateries. Pier 39 is a short walk from the hotel ask the staff if they have any discounts coupons for restaurants in the area. My room is always clean thanks to your wonderful housekeeping staff. All your staff is amazing.
On are return trip in July We stay here 1 night on the way home from Europe long flight and we were tired I think Chris checked us in the room was clean and the complimentary breakfast buffet was good after being in Europe I was happy to eat America Breakfast. We told Mr.Lawrence about the taxi driver when we were there in May how he went inside hotel and left the meter running and took the busy route to the airport but finally decided to cut down a side street. Ms Cleo checked us out the next morning. You have the most amazing staff Lawrence, Jeff,Chris, Erika, Cleo.

We were in SF for the WC soccer, the city was quite full of tourists including the hotel. The atmosphere was quite lively, soccer matches on tv and the whole city was in euphoria. The hotel presented a mini Aussie vibe, with specs of Paraguay supporters.
The location is great if you are in SF for work or holidays, it’s bang on the Fisherman’s Wharf, walking distance to local attractions like the Piers and restaurants. But it’s quite far from the Levis stadium in Santa Clara, normally around 1-1.5 hours by uber, but took us 3 hours on match day. Even the SFO airport was over 60 mins. Saying that, every commute in Bay Area was over 60 mins, that’s SF for you.
We stayed for 4 nights in a King Room. The rooms were slightly small, with typically Holiday Inn Express decor. The room was clean and well maintained. The bed was quite big and comfortable, we had asked for a roll on extra bed, it had a thin mattress but we couldn’t complain. The staff specially Chris was very attentive, always smiling and helpful. It was a pleasure interacting with them. The breakfast was good, though limited in number of items. It always overflowed with people, very hard to find a table to yourself if you go after 7:30am. The 4 days we stayed, we had scrambled eggs, potato bites every day and one protein kept changing, along with the staple thoroughfare like bread, oats, coffee/tea and waffles. They served cinnamon rolls, which we loved. Overall not bad, we enjoyed it but got bored within a couple of days.
Only thing I would genuinely recommend is to provide either an electric kettle or a microwave in the room. It’s actually standard in all Holiday Inns, was surprised and highly inconvenienced without one or the other.
A good stay, would stay again only if the room is provided either with an Electric kettle or microwave.

A mixed review for this hotel. We stayed here four nights. The cost of parking is very high approx $300. The rooms are compact but serviceable. We didn't have a view and one of the days the room wasnt cleaned. The lobby is large but this doubles up as a breakfast area and a couple of mornings there wasnt enough seating. Tea, coffee is available from a coffee machine in the lobby. There is also a gym. There isnt a bar but the hotel location is fantastic its very close to Pier 39 (about 5 minutes walk) where you can find all the bars, restaurants and shops you might want or need. The price for the hotel is reasonable for the area. Breakfast is self-service, there is limited choices of food available and two mornings they had no butter for the toast. Would I recommend this hotel to others? I'm on the fence with this one because it has good and bad points.
