  Given my recent experience at this hotel, I definitely would not stay again. Because of a flight delay, I had to check in past midnight. Given the late hour, The front desk employee tried to be accommodating and checked us in relatively quickly once I gave them info on my pre booked reservation. He even offered us bottled water which was nice because there is no water provided in the hotel room. I provided the original credit card I used to book the stay online directly through the Bristol website, and the employee notified me that he'd need to run it again as I was on my way to my room. Up until this point everything had been smooth. What happened after this was candidly very unacceptable in my opinion. First, the employee had come directly to our hotel room while I was settling in for the night and asked if I could release a hold on my credit card. I let them know that I did not receive any type of credit card hold, but if I did I would definitely release it. He was satisfied with this answer and had left us for the night. I had waited for some time to receive a notification from my bank and I did not receive anything so I went to bed. Later at 6am while I was still sleeping I received a phone call directly to my room, then to my personal cell phone, and later a direct visit to my hotel room. The same employee that had checked us in that late evening was frantically asking if I could please release the hold saying he would be personally accountable for the charge. I asked him if we could resolve this billing issue at a more reasonable hour, perhaps before I checked out. His response is that he already extended me the courtesy of waiting to resolve the charge and tried not to bother me, and he has politely waited until he had to clock out. As I wanted to go immediately back to sleep vs. debating with him further, I walked down to the front desk with him and provided a new credit card. The employee apologized profusely for the experience, and I understand that he is merely trying to do his job, however the way this was handled by the hotel staff was incredibly unprofessional and disruptive to my stay. There could have easily been several different ways this could have been handled by hotel staff vs. rudely waking me up during San Diego city quiet hours while I already had checked in well past midnight. Frankly speaking this is not the type of service I would expect of a hotel of this caliber, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

  This hotel is quaint and fabulous. It is within walking distance to many attractions. Public transportation is readily available. They have a Rockstar staff who will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. The room was bright and comfortable with a great view. The only thing disappointing features were the lack of a restaurant and the bathroom could use some updating. But I would highly recommend.

  If I could leave zero stars I would. The hotel is not as advertised. When I arrived, I noticed cracks in the ceiling, and my bed was uncomfortable along with the toilet, not being clean. I was also unable to watch television in the room. This hotel refuses to provide a refund despite my best efforts as well as my credit card company. I will not stay here if I were you.
