  Do not stay here! Unsafe air quality in rooms, and uncaring staff! I booked one night’s stay through a third party site for a king room (at a higher rate than a queen room). During checkin, I was told they did not have any king rooms available and that there was a $25 parking fee. None of this was disclosed when I purchased my room. The front desk clerk did not seem to care that the 3rd party site was continuing to sell higher priced king rooms although they were no longer available. Also, why is a hotel that is not next to the airport or downtown charging for parking in the first place? We dealt with a queen room; upon entering, the room smelled of mildew. The next morning, I woke with congestion and throat irritation; I am certain this was from the room’s poor air quality. The cherry on top was at breakfast: all of the more expensive food items on the buffet (bacon/eggs) were empty and were not replenished after 15 minutes. We left and ate elsewhere. I’ve stayed at many Holiday Inn Express’ due to their consistency; this one was BY FAR the worst, and makes me question returning to any other location.

  I wrote off Holiday Inn completely after this one visit. I paid extra for a specific room type, only to arrive and find out they didn’t even have it available. They wouldn’t refund the price difference, and I couldn’t cancel without being charged for the night. What made it worse was that they wouldn’t even waive the parking fee to help offset their own mistake. Breakfast was another disappointment. Most of the good items were gone, and I waited about 30 minutes to see if they would refill anything—they never did. Overall, terrible customer service and a very disappointing experience. I paid extra for something I didn’t receive, and they made no real effort to make it right.

  Angelica was absolutely amazing! From the moment we checked into the Holiday Inn, she welcomed us with such warmth, kindness, and professionalism. She made us feel right at home and ensured our check-in experience was smooth and pleasant. Her customer service was truly five-star, and you can tell she genuinely cares about making guests feel comfortable and appreciated. Holiday Inn is lucky to have her! Thank you, Angelica, for such a wonderful welcome. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  I had a sudden emergency in San Diego, and I just happen to be next to this Holiday Inn. I've stayed at other IHG Hotels in San Diego. They all have been great, but this one was totally different because of two amazing gentlemen, Sunny and Uday. They greeted me with big smiles, and helped me out with my needs. I got a great room at a good price, and they totally went out of their way to help me out trying to figure out how to reopen my app, And answered numerous questions through the evening. I was in a really bad state of mind, and they totally got me relaxed. I can't think both of them enough. I totally recommend this hotel, and if you have a chance to stay here, make sure you say hi to both of these guys. Thank you again to Sunny and Uday. 💙

  We dropped off our son at UCSD and wanted to stay and not make the long drive back home to LA, and to see him the next day for a few hours. We arrived around 4:30pm and the room wasn’t ready. We entered our room around 4;45. Mind you, check in time is 3pm. I understand they were probably short staffed and it took almost 2 hours to get our room ready for us. I get it. But, the next morning when we requested a late check out, they only gave us 30 mins extra. Like, you guys took 2 hours from our stay but can only give 30 mins extra?? I get that we arrived late, but more reason to have the room ready. Anyway, I understand short staffed but come on, we already don't get enough time to rest, and on top of that they take additional 2 hours? That’s not cool and I normally don’t give low reviews, but this one really bothered me. Anyway the staff was polite and I get it, it’s not their fault. This hotel needs better policies.
