Had a wonderful stay. The room wasn't terrible. The sliding door was hard to open and close, light came in from the entry door and no fan in the bathroom. That was definitely inconvenient considering the humidity outside. The TV remote was dead and one of the lights didn't work. Just little things I felt should've been checked before the next guest. The manager, Michael was fantastic during our stay, answered all of our questions and even gave us some ideas of places to go and things to see. Juan, in the restaurant, 5 stars. He was our waiter every morning of our 5 day stay and was a highlight. His personality was loud and inviting, we'll remember him forever. Absolutely nothing within walking distance which was a downside but we were within 10 minutes of SeaWorld, the Zoo, Balboa Park, and Old Town which was awesome. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

It's a really poor experience staying at this property from beginning to end. This property is a dump!!!!! Our room didn't have a chair. hair dryer and the luggage rack. We had to wait more than 40 mins and called twice to get them to sent to the room. In addition, the ac control didn't work at all. We thought we'd "tough if through" but then the last day we were there, it was unbearable!!!!!. In addition, the water from the bath tub was backing up while we took shower. Then one of the mornings while we were there, we noticed that the whole back parking lot was flowing with waster/grease water. There was a plumbing truck there fixing problems they had from the kitchen. Guess what, they ran the waste/grease water to the creek directly!!!!!! That's just illegal!!!!!! They didn't bother to clean it up because the next day, there was still puddle of water and dried up grease on the ground of parking lot. They should fire whoever manages the property! The video says it all!!!!!

Very mixed feels about my stay. I was offered an upgrade to a suite based on my status, and the front desk was very helpful in accommodating my family and I in getting rooms near each other. The location is great overall.
But when I got to my suite, it felt stuck in the 80s! It came with a wet bar, which is a fun idea, but if you're not planning to use it, it's a bit of a waste of space. It in no way resembled the suite on the website. The bed was an uncomfortable Murphy bed. On the last night, I noticed the outlet just inches from our heads, behind the bed, looked like a fire hazard waiting to happen. It's weird to comment on the toilet, but even that felt like it was from the 80s and took probably 5 minutes between flushes to fill. Maybe it was a suite from amount of space, but I sure hope you're not charging anyone the suite price for that room! Also, balcony's all around, but not even a chair on the balcony to enjoy the outdoor space?
We went down to the hotel bar one night, and it was disgusting. Gnats flying everywhere.
The pool was nice and heated. It would be nicer if the hot tub was in the same space as the pool, but that probably is what it is. Maintenance needs to fix the gates to the pool cause it was trial and error to find the one that worked. Or at least put an out of order sign on the non-working one.

Double Charging & Terrible Accounting. Check your credit card statements! I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Crowne Plaza San Diego - Mission Valley. My room was fully prepaid through a third-party booking platform (Trip.com). However, this hotel has some of the worst billing practices I have ever encountered. During my stay, I paid my $36.00 parking fee in person at the front desk on June 28th, which went through as a completed sale. Shockingly, on June 30th, the hotel went ahead and charged my credit card (the one left for incidentals) an additional $114.95 as a "Sale" transaction, not a temporary authorization hold. When confronted through the booking platform, the hotel's finance team fraudulently claimed that this $114.95 was a "hold that includes the $36 parking fee and the rest would be refunded." This makes absolutely no sense because: My parking fee was already settled and paid separately on June 28th. The bank statement clearly shows it was a finalized charge (Sale), not an authorization. They are literally double-charging for parking and making up unauthorized charges hoping international travelers won't notice or follow up. I have already initiated a credit card dispute with my bank. If you decide to stay here, check your bank statements very carefully. Management needs to audit their front desk and accounting team immediately.

First off, I want to thank Larry for giving my Wife and I a great experience. My expectations for a happy hour were normal, figured a few drinks and maybe some food. Though when it says strike up a conversation with Larry for Thursday's, you really need to do that if you're staying on a Thursday night. Super cool guy with amazing life experience that you wouldn't expect. Not to mention he's the best bartender I've ever experienced. Listen to his recommendations! You can't go on living life without meeting Larry I'm telling you!
For the hotel itself, I greatly enjoyed my stay. The rooms were clean, and housekeeping was great everyday for room service! I loved how all the rooms have balconies, makes for a relaxing time outside the room. The location was convenient, and all the staff were pleasant. Whenever I'll be going to the San Diego area, this will be my first choice in looking for a place to stay. Thank you Crowne Plaza San Diego for giving my Wife and I an amazing week!
