Nice place to state yourself for all of the great places you'll be going in San Diego (aka: saint John). Less than 15 minutes to many places, including down town, old town, the bay & beaches, the zoo, Balboa Park, etc. On top of that the have a pool and spa, exercise room, and cafe on site. Good clean rooms... Could be a bit bigger, but usable. Nice TV's and lots of hot water .

BED BUGS!!!! Me and my husband checked into this hotel and I instantly knew it wasn't good. We got to our room which the air wasn't on obviously it was very hot. I always check the bed before we settle (which thankfully I did) I checked the sheets and bedding and didn't see anything thankfully I checked the bed skirt. All the folds had bed bugs in them. (The brown is the adult bugs and the white are the eggs) Thankfully we got out of there as quickly as possible. The front desk was kind about it but they weren't surprised, the one guy working the desk said that he JUST got rid of HIS. Anyways I always get scared staying at hotels because of this so I would definitely avoid this hotel. 100% not worth the price for bed bugs. You always get what you pay for and that is definitely not worth it.

overall for the price paid compared to others in the area, great value. the room was in nice condition, everything worked well. the fridge temperature dial needed to be turned on to work and it would’ve been nice to get a heads up on that. no noise whatsoever, generally safe area never felt weird at all. would’ve loved a microwave but only six are on the property and other rooms had them during our whole stay. both ac & heat worked well. we were able to drop off our bags before check in to explore which was nice. the layout is motel style where you access your room from outside, but that was the common theme for most hotels we saw in the area. the only thing that made the stay a little inconvenient was the location. we thought “hotel circle” would be close & central given that it must be touristy, but it felt a little out of the way of most things. the public transit nearby wasn’t great, there were two bus stops right outside and another about an eight minute walk away, then a trolley station 15 minutes walk. it took a significant amount of time to get anywhere by bus or trolley, and in the end we had to uber or lyft (so expensive) a lot due to 30 + minute transit times. i’m not old enough to rent a car yet but i would 100% say it’s necessary if you want a hotel in this area. if you wanna be closer to the zoo, beach, petco park, anything really i would stay elsewhere, however this was the right choice for our budget.

The hotel felt safe and comfortable, there were a few things that didn't work as well as they should have in the room but for the $100 a night you can't beat it. My room had a broken shower curtain rod which had the curtain falling to the middle and the towel holder was also broken I was scared to use it or it would fall off and the hand sink kept plugging up, I left a review for them to fix those, but all the way around great spot for the price I paid. The feeling of comfort with two younger kids was my main concern and I was happy. The property was beautiful.

We stayed here for our daughter’s grad trip. I reserved a suite that had a queen room and a front room with a pull out sofa and 2 bathrooms. Upon arrival the man at the front desk was chipper and accommodating. However, we were disappointed to find out there’s no complementary full breakfast despite what I was told when I called ahead of time and spoke to a lady. We get to our room and tstill had to wipe down some surfaces where there were smudges and questionable stains on the headboard. The pull out sofa was rock hard and we had to request bedding. Our queen bed was also rock hard and we had to request another blanket as the one on the bed was paper thin. We also had to request soap for the shower and sink. Toilet plumbing wasn’t the best. And upon preparing to leave, housekeeping walked in on us dressing at 10:30am when check out is at 11am and we had a do not disturb sign on the door. Not okay! The pool and spa were very nice. The landscape was tropical and beautiful. Grounds were clean. No homeless residents which was a bonus. Close to Sea World, SD zoo, SDSU, Fashion Valley Mall, Mission Bay, airport and the freeways. Secure.
