  This hotel is perfect if you are visiting San Diego. The location could not be beat- Cafe Coyote and the rest of old town were just a block or two away from the hotel. We really enjoyed Jeff, who drives the shuttles from the hotel to the airport. He was very kind and I was pleasantly surprised when he remembered us and asked about how our day at the zoo was. The hotel itself was GORGEOUS. The sunset views (& fireworks views if you visit for the 4th of July) were so great. We didnt get a chance to visit the pool/hot tub on this visit, but we hope next time we will stay for a longer period of time so we can enjoy a nice evening soak in the hot tub. The free breakfast buffet was outstanding! I can't remember the last time I had a hotel breakfast that was so well-stocked and had such a variety of items (think chilaquillles, french toast, oatmeal, waffles, all of it!). For such a reasonable price, there is no reason to stay anywhere else, especially if you want to take advantage of the close location to the old town trolley tour. We cannot wait to come back!

  Location is a 5 star, but unfortunately everything else is not. Given a room with no ability to lower tv volume past 10, no hand soap (something that should be an automatic) & the lock on the door is upside down; don’t feel safe sleeping knowing lock is not working correctly. Called front desk @2pm to notify of issues, maintenance never arrived as promised, so i went down to the front desk around 4:15pm to follow up and inform of my concerns & was told to reach back out later in the evening; went to dinner & it’s now 10:20pm. Maintenance man arrived and even he couldn’t figure out how to fix the tv volume. Although he did offer to move us to a different room, who wants to move at 10:30pm?!?! Seriously???Highly disappointed, ruined my 1 night getaway/ anniversary date night with my husband. Thanks Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town for an unforgettable night!!!!!! What a waste of my hard earned money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One more thing… description when booking online says there’s a sofa bed in the room; lies! There was no such thing in our room! I feel ripped off, deceived, cheated out of my special day! I enjoy hanging out in my rentals every chance i get when renting a room, but not this time! Best Western please do better!!!!! ———————- Update- Prior to checkout this morning, found myself taking a shower in standing water! Drain not working properly either on top of everything else! Complained to front desk & was told manager will reach back out to me. Not holding my breath…

  This Best Western has the best location when visiting Old Town San Diego. -The rates are very competitive. -The rooms are very clean and meet expectations. -The parking was a bit complicated. You have to scan a bar code and pay a third party for parking. $30 per day. -If you get building 6 or the 600’s get ready for the walk of shame. Secret parking for building 6 at 2439 Juan St. It's part if the hotel but, use that address to find it.

  Yes, yes, yes. This last-minute booking suited our travel needs. We ended up walking here from the Amtrak old town stop from Anaheim. The hotel also had a shuttle that could’ve picked us up at the Amtrak stop but we opted for the stroll with our suitcase instead. We made it here with ease (even 2 kids and a grandpa walking with a small pull along suitcase). The actual property is a step back in time. Coming from the east coast and seeing all of the tile was breathtaking on the steps. We ended up in building 600 which was a very quick walk to the great breakfast. Upon checking in, everyone was super friendly. I called the front desk one time to get towels for the pool and she was also very kind. The towels arrived to the pool rather quickly. There are multiple elevators on property so you just need to make sure that you find the elevator(s) if you’re a non-step person. There are at least three different elevators throughout the property to get you to different levels. The rooms are a step back in time. Read that how you want. They appeared to be clean, which is my number one priority, and have running water and electricity. The breakfast had many options which was an unexpected surprise. You’re also within walking distance to places to eat. If I happen to be back in the area again, I would not hesitate to book here another time.

  First this hotel is not senior or disabled friendly. The elevators go to certain floors but i still had to climb several flights of stairs to get to the room. Im 65 and had a hard time. Second, going into the room after checking in had an old musty smell, there was a pile of dirty sheets and towels sitting on the sofa from the previous guest. The maid neglected to take it out along with some other trash in the room. We called the desk twice for someone to pick it up. Furniture in the room was old, bathroom tub and sink appears to be 30+ years or older. Upgrades to the room and getting to the room are definitely needed along with proper staff training. I also had to find someone to put towels in the pool area. The attached restaurant, The Tequila Factory wasn't much better. We gathered for a birthday celebration and ordered extra chips that never came, ordered another drink that never came. There was really no other guests in the patio area so not sure why service was bad. Food itself was just mediocre and two of my guests became ill afterwards. Maybe that's why there were no other guests. The only plus this hotel has is thats it's right in the middle of Old Town. IDK, the quality and service at both of these establishments needs to change.
