  Rooms: The rooms are clean and the size is good including the bathroom. No musty odor upon entering. It smelled fresh. The rooms not overly large, but big enough that they feel comfortable. My wife approves of the beds and pillows which are both clean and soft. Breakfast: There was no waffle iron or mix but there was a pancake machine. There were bagels, bread, english muffins, and toasters, butter, and jam/jelly. There were small muffins and cinnamon rolls available as well. There was cereal and milk, apple juice, orange juice, coffee, tea, and half & half. There were apples and bananas available. There were biscuits and gravy, fried potatoes, small cheese omelettes with what seemed like cheddar, and small sausage links. The sausages and the omelettes were the only protein sources. Unfortunately there was no bacon. All hot food items came from packaged/frozen and the eggs were from liquid eggs, but that’s standard with all of these hotels. Overall I would rate the breakfast as adequate. Overall I rate the hotel 4.5 of 5 stars. If the breakfast was better I’d give a 5. The view from the room was of trees/nature. This room was on the corner of the hotel and had two windows. The other window had a view of the parking lot/nature. There is a Walmart located adjacent to the hotel and definitely within walking distance. The surrounding area was very beautiful and seemed very safe. If you’ve read this entire review and are considering staying here l would recommend going ahead and booking a room here. I’m a very tough critic and yet I like this place.

  Basic rooms. Mine smelled weird. But the price is right and there is a great little park right across the way and the state beach across highway 1. This was my homebase for Monterey/Carmel trip

  The bathroom door was not very easy to use, and there was a slight odor in the bathroom.

  This is a good hotel located in a nice area, not far from stores or the beach. It is It is not a luxury hotel, but clean, which is the most important thing. I did not give 5 stars because it is less secluded than those ultra luxury hotels by the beach, but it's good if you just want to visit this area without bleeding your wallet too much. It does have have slight noise from the traffic but very tolerable, especially the windows are double-paned. The breakfast is good, and each room equipped with a microwave, and mini refrigerator, coffee maker. The bed is comfortable, but on a softer side, which I suppose is fine for those who prefer a softer mattress, but I personally prefer a firm mattress. Parking is free. So, overall. I give it a 4 stars.

  Toilet sits very low like a child's. Fridge made odd humming sound. Elevator in weird location. Police speeding by all night long. Nice artwork. Central location.
