They cancelled my room the day before I was suppose to arrive due to me being the “last person to book the room type.” Okay if I was, they why didn’t they cancel it a week or when I actually booked it? Now I can’t go in my trip because I can’t afford all the prices that come along with booking a hotel the day before travel. Horrible service.

Location: a residential neighborhood. The hotel is in a cozy neighborhood. Nice vibe here. Rooms: nice standard Best Western property. Coffee makers and mini fridges in all rooms thankfully. Due to staffing shortages they sometimes skip breakfast. Bring your own. No central heating - wall unit only. Turn it on immediately lest you wake up a bit cold in the early A.M. 🥶 They have a Jacuzzi on the bottom floor!

I would stay somewhere else. The whole place is grungy, smells a little, and a bit dirty. Though the lobby seemed nice until I was checking out and their kitchen cook was laying across the only couch asleep. Not a good look. The beds were creaky and uncomfortable. The fridge in one of our rooms didn't work and we lost some baked dairy goods. Breakfast was a disappointment. It was a mess, with full trash can, food out, milk out of stock, the yogurt out and more. The waffles were stocked the whole time though but the rest was constantly out as they would only make a little bit at a time. We went down at 8:30am and there was supposed to be an hour left of the breakfast service so I went up to ask the front desk asking how to get the food restocked. Just said ask the guy in the kitchen. He finally got one thing restocked at a time. (Never the yogurt though)And Nothing was seasoned. Like seriously, not even salt. The eggs were firm and tasteless, the potatoes tasted like burnt oil. Bummer. We filled up on waffles and bacon. Bacon was good. And the whole place was kinda yucky. Could've been worse though.

⭐⭐⭐ I understand that many of the hotels in Mammoth are older properties, and that’s completely fine—but age doesn’t excuse cleanliness. When you’re charging these kinds of rates, the basics should be done well. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating, which we really appreciated. However, the room itself left a lot to be desired. There was noticeable dust, dirty corners, and carpets that clearly needed a proper vacuum. I stay in over 100 hotels a year, and at the end of the day, cleanliness is basic hospitality. This isn’t meant to run the housekeeping staff down, I truly believe it’s the responsibility of owners and managers to ensure the standards are there so staff can take pride in their work. Older hotels can absolutely feel clean and well cared for, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case here. With better attention to these basics, the guest experience would improve a lot.
