Our experience at check‑in was disappointing. The older gentleman who assisted us was not welcoming and offered very little help. When I explained that I had called earlier and was told we could check in an hour early, he simply repeated, “No, you can’t. Our systems are down,” without explaining why or how long the issue would last. After mentioning that we had driven six hours and needed a place to change, he pointed toward the bathrooms but gave no directions—no turns, landmarks, or guidance. In most hospitality settings, staff will at least walk guests partway or provide clear instructions when the route isn’t obvious. My partner and I ended up wandering around and eventually had to return to the front desk to ask again. He appeared annoyed and repeated that we should “look for a sign that says restroom.” During check‑in, we were given only two water bottles (one per person) and no additional water for the following days. Our room itself was comfortable, but the sink was clogged and did not drain properly. We completed a self‑checkout at the end of our stay. Overall, the lack of hospitality and customer service was surprising, especially in an industry where warmth, clarity, and attentiveness are expected.

In finale hotel consigliato

The hotel was beautiful. It was very hot and the AC was having trouble keeping up with it, but they sent a maintenance person up right away to assist, which helped, but did not fix it entirely. I think it was just too hot for them to be able to manage in general. There was a sound stage right outside our room that was very, very loud. Again, not their fault, but it did increase my anxiety quite a bit because you could literally feel the bass despite being so far away. Our room initially was supposed to be the millennium suite, but there was an issue with the system, and as a result, it was double booked. Jelery was amazing and very accommodating, she was able to get us into two executive rooms with a private alcove that connected them. The mixup was frustrating, but they were very helpful and accommodating for their mistake. I know this is a very high stress time given the labyrinth ball and I appreciate them working with me.

I have been coming to the Biltmore here for four years now annually to attend the Labyrinth Masquerade. This review is based upon not only my most recent visit, but my previous stays as well. Positives - The main floor of the hotel is stunning. It is clear most of the cost of upkeep is spent on maintaining this space. Additionally, in my most recent visit both valet and housekeeping were polite, kind, and incredibly helpful. I would go as far to say above and beyond in terms of expectation of care. Cons- rooms and hallways are neglected. It feels like they just slap new coats of paint over things and call it a day. Paint on both our door and in our bathroom was peeling. The bottom of our hotel door had a large gap that bled hallway light into the room at night. There seems to always be an issue with the bathroom doors - we’ve never had one able to both shut all the way AND lock. Bathrooms are very small, but the size of the tubs and vanities leads to the bathroom being flooded after use. My friend and I were also debating over whether it was the hallway or our (non smoking) room that smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. During this recent trip, we asked valet to bring our car around and let the bell desk know we’d need help with our bags. We waited 20 minutes, called down to the bell desk and didn’t get through. 5-10 minutes later we tried again, and the guy sounded annoyed and told us it’d be a 20 minute wait. Valet called shortly after that asking if we’d be down soon, we told them the bell desk said 20 minutes for a bellhop, the guy sounded annoyed saying he could see 3 of them just standing in the lobby and that he would call them. About a minute after that the bell desk called and said they’d send someone up. When we got to the car bay one of my bags fell off the cart and valet ran over to help. Valet seemed annoyed with the bellhops and if this a regular occurrence I can’t blame them. Overall, it is very tempting to book at the Hilton across the street next year for this event, but we will have to weigh the pros of a nice appearing hotel room vs an easily accessible one we can go up to at any point. If someone in management is reading this and cares, here is a list of issues that should be fixed based on four stays over the course of four years: 1. All doors (hotel room and bathroom) should have the layers of paint stripped so that they can then be properly repainted. 2. Doors should then be refitted to have no gaps. Locks on bathrooms should be checked. 3. Hallways and rooms should probably be sanded and then repainted. Areas where the paint is peeling will not be fixed by another layer of paint. 4. Light switches should be checked and replaced if broken. 5. Windows should be evaluated to see if something can be done for noise reduction. 6. Room appliances should be inspected. The mini fridges are the top of my mind, but I saw other reviews mention the safes not working. 7. It should be evaluated if taller tubs/vanities can be put in. If this is unachievable then a longer shower curtain and a non slip mat outside the showers are a must. 8. Some sort of notification for people upon booking about potential events in the hotel. Maybe some additional info on if certain parts of the hotel are closed off during their stay (or say, if the entire hotel lobby will be blocked off by masses of people in costume). I’m not saying this hotel should drastically change into any other modern hotel, I just wish the level of care that is seen in the lobby could also be reflected in the rooms above it. I want to be able to tell people about how beautiful all of the Biltmore is, rather than saying just the lobby is.
