Updated Review:
Unfortunately, my experience after checkout has been very disappointing. I prepaid $347.22 through a third-party booking site (Hopper) for my stay from May 22–24, 2026, but was also charged an additional $299.58 by the hotel after check out.
I contacted management on May 28, both verbally and by email, and was told the matter would be addressed. Weeks later, I still have not received my refund or a meaningful update. I have provided documentation showing both charges and have had to dispute the duplicate charge through my credit card company.
I am posting this in hopes that management will finally resolve the issue and process the refund that is owed.
Previous Review.
Sens Suites by Best Western in Livermore, CA is a dated property that is in clear need of maintenance and updates, but the staff and room size do offer some positives.
The staff were consistently very kind, welcoming, and responsive. They accommodated our request for early check-in by about 30 minutes, and anytime we requested extra towels, they were brought to us quickly and without issue.
However, there were several concerning maintenance and cleanliness issues. We found a stray cockroach in the kitchen and killed it, and there was visible evidence of insect droppings around some outlets and light switches. The accessible doorbell system in our room did not work as intended, it was supposed to trigger lights in the living room and bathroom, but it never functioned. The shower knobs were also very difficult to turn, to the point that my senior parents needed help using them. Some of the kitchen seating was worn and torn, and certain wall paper appeared to be peeling.
There were additional signs that the property is aging and not being fully maintained. The spa was not operational during our stay and appeared to be under repair. There were also a couple of large potholes at the entrance, which made driving in unpleasant.
That said, the beds, pillows, and towels were clean and comfortable. The bathroom amenities were well stocked, and the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers were full, the conditioner in particular was surprisingly good and left my hair feeling very soft. The room itself had excellent space, with a full refrigerator, electric stove, and cabinetry, and the layout with two queen beds and a fold-out couch worked very well for our family.
Overall, the property has great potential and strong “bones,” especially in terms of space and layout, but it feels significantly in need of renovation and more consistent upkeep. It also had a somewhat residential feel, with what appeared to be long-term residents spending time outside, which made it feel more like an apartment complex than a hotel.
I was torn on the experience because the value and space were excellent, but the maintenance and cleanliness issues were hard to overlook.
