  I love staying at the Shoal, it’s been a few years since I have been back but Tricia at the front desk is incredible. Not only was she personable but helpful too. Thank you Tricia we will definitely be back!!

  Got this hotel for a wedding. i chose it because check in was 3pm as standard! The wedding was at 4 so i needed to check in and get ready before. We did pay and received early check in at 2pm for only 30$ you cant beat that!! Room Price was great but that check in time is fantastic. Location can be tricky if you’ve never been to La Jolla, but after driving in La Jolla what roads make sense? Also it makes this hotel easy to get to than in the heart of La Jolla. Our Uber drivers had no issues and the in and out feature is nice. parking may not be good for trucks or large trucks but my SUV was able to navigate and park easily. The staff is amazing, from the calls i made to in person interactions, they are all nice, helpful and informative. The room itself is spacious, pictures make it seem smaller, and it was clean. Definitely a come back situation.

  Loved my stay at The Shoal, the staff was very accommodating and the location was perfect for being close to the beach and restaurants and shops. Highly recommend! We will be coming back 😊

  My husband and I chose to stay at The Shoal due to affordability and proximity to the beautiful beaches and downtown area in La Jolla. We were blown away with the quality of the customer service (everyone was SO kind and friendly), the servicing of the rooms, the free rentals of beach gear, overnight parking at a great price and on-site laundry services! There was one small issue with our shower not draining properly, but once we requested maintenance, they coordinated a time to come by that worked for our scheduled and fixed it good as new! We definitely felt taken care of and truly felt like we got more quality than we could have possibly expected. We will definitely be back!
