  Really nice stay! Loved the room; got a free upgrade and was massive. Really comfortable bed and updated interior. Nice gym, everything worked and bosu balls inflated (find that rare). Tiny pool that was full while I was there, don’t use those unless empty. The breakfast was great, lots of hot options, fresh bananas and oranges and cereals. Hot coffee, well stocked. Nice to have the free parking. Very polite staff

  By far one of the best hotels i have stayed at for the value! 1 block away from the ocean in La jolla! Great check in experience, free parking, and a great hot breakfast! Rooms are spacious and have all the amenities, ie ( mini fridge & microwave). There is an outdoor pool and a comfortable vibe. Definitely check this hotel out if your in the la jolla area and need a place to stay!

  We had a wonderful family vacation and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was new, very comfortable and modern, extremely clean, quiet, and in a great location—just a short walk to the beach. The whole staff was friendly and VERY welcoming. A special shout-out to Hunter for his outstanding customer service. He was incredibly accommodating, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. His kindness really saved our family vacation as we switched hotels last minute, and it was the best decision we made to switch to HI Windasea! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

  “Beach” vibe hotel at Windansea. A little far from the middle of La Jolla, but we took the #30 bus into town and walked back after dinner. The breakfast is “typical”. Our main criticism is leaving a polarizing news channel on in the public breakfast room. Either keep the TV off, (and inaccessible to guests), or here are some neutral options: Home & Lifestyle: HGTV, Food Network, and the Travel Channel Weather & Nature: The Weather Channel, National Geographic, and Animal Planet Public & Educational: PBS and local public broadcast stations that offer family-friendly, educational, and neutral programming. Classic Entertainment: Turner Classic Movies (TCM) or appropriate cartoon networks.

  We had a wonderful stay at the La Jolla Holiday Inn and would be happy to have the opportunity to stay here again. The hotel isn’t a typical enter the lobby and take an elevator up to your floor, it’s a bunch of rooms you can navigate outside paths to access. The hotel has plants and palm trees and places to sit and enjoy the outdoors, and it felt more resort-like to us because it had lots of pretty spaces. It isn’t on the beach, but is within walking distance to one, and a quick drive to many others. They even have an outdoor shower to wash off sand for beach-goers. We found that this location was pretty centrally located for our sight-seeing and wedding attending that we were in the area for. The room in which we stayed was cozy and more up-to-date than a lot of hotels I’ve seen recently. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable (a bit on the firm side but not too hard), the shower was big (the door got a bit leaky but really the only issue with the room). The toilet is a bit awkwardly placed with an angled wall, so I had to sit a bit sideways as a tall person. There is limited parking in the parking lot and the lot spaces are very narrow, but you can park on the road in front of the hotel. They offer free breakfast, the normal selection that you would find at any Holiday Inn so nothing particularly special to note here. It’s pretty affordable for the area also, but you’re still getting a good experience. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place in the Ja Jolla area!
