Steph’s Best: Travel Edition!
Paying for location along the Redwood Highway in ancestral Klamath - although dated with minimal amenities, this is the best in the area and safe - offering free breakfast & booking canoe trips! Grab your Cherry Coca-Cola, vending on all 3 floors!

Everything was perfect. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was good, clean common areas and dining room. Nice little gift shop. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location, but the cleanliness, breakfast set-up, and service were disappointing compared to our usual stays at HI Express. The location could not be beat, though, with close access to the Redwoods National and State Parks. It was very disappointing that no laundry was available in the hotel.

Coming from a milti-day trip from Washington and this holiday inn Express was the only hotel/amenity in town that was open around 2am. Upon walking up to the front entrance doors were locked and had to stand there for about 20 minutes knocking and no one came out and then we saw the sign that said pick up phone to call so we did and it rang for another 5 min. After all that time a rough looking lady came out and it damn looked like she was half asleep (very inappropriate, no wonder why we were waiting so long), on top of that she was wearing really big sweats and a hoodie. This is my first and last time trying to stay at a holiday inn Express. If this is the standard for every holiday inn Express than we don't want to stay at any of them.

Our family had a 2 night stay here while seeing the Redwoods. It was significantly underwhelming! Tub water wouldn't drain when showering upon arrival and before we left our last day, the toilet stopped filling with water and wouldn't flush, while the sink water barely flowed out. WiFi sucked with limited 5G service. There was no mention we needed to request housekeeping, but we didn't put the door hanger on the door expecting housekeeping our first night. It wasn't done, even though we always tip and had left one in the room. To make matters worse, Klamath has virtually no good food options other than shitty fried food or burgers. You had to travel 30 minutes for any kind of decent food. There's no reason to stay here, so take my advice and stay in Crescent City. Trust me, it's far, far better and will save you from a lot of headaches.
