I booked two king rooms directly through IHG because the hotel was listed as pet-friendly. I’m an IHG member.
At check-in around 3:30pm, I was told there were no pet-friendly rooms available and that king rooms were not pet-friendly. I was also warned of a $250 fine for keeping my dog in a non-pet-friendly room and told to contact the booking agency, even though I had booked directly through IHG. Staff said they were not responsible for how 3rd-party booking agencies handle these situations.
After I raised the issue, they kept a king room for my elderly parents and gave me a double room with the disclosed $25 pet fee, which I had no problem paying.
The rooms were clean and the location was convenient, with a grocery store directly across the street. However, Wi-Fi was unreliable and gets disconnected every 5 minutes, the double room I was given did not appear to have ramp access, and the pool and hot tub were closed.
While I’m glad the issue was resolved, my main concern was the unclear pet policy and how the situation was handled at check-in, especially given the possibility of a $250 penalty or being left without a room for the night, with most hotels in town already sold out.

This place saved us on our trip. We had reserved a hotel elsewhere that ended up having unacceptable accommodations. Found this hotel, they had a room available. The service was very friendly and so willing to help us. It was clean and comfortable. The price was right and the hot breakfast was great. This is a great place to stay.

UPDATE TO REPLY BACK- The problem is when booked online from a computer and you click book it takes you to the next page to book. After going back and looking you have to scroll down to see a tiny red dot with an announcement before you click book which isn't very obvious as you have stated over the months since your pool has been closed I guess now since back in December. For over $600 for 2 nights no not a good stay and when I asked at 9:18 this morning for more biscuits he said sure and then came back and said never mind they take 10 minutes to make so no I'm not making any more. Immediately the screen curtain was slammed at 9:30 to block people from going back in. No the service was horrible and we will never return. The points are not worth it I will continue to go to Best Western. Also if you have so many people having an issue with the "announcement" about the pool then its not a 1 or 2 off its something you should focus on because its not obvious enough so you should fix your issue. I will be complaining on the actual IGH website as well. Your "service" is not acceptable and the shortness of staff is not up to par.
Original- The pool is closed for renovations during the summer. There was no prior warning when booking direct on the Holiday Inn website. We booked 2 nights very sad little boys.
