Nestled in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, among gently rolling hills and stunningly majestic vistas, The Farmhouse Inn welcomes you to an inspired escape.
After being long time guests, I’m sad to report that the hotel has lost its luster after being sold to the Foley group. They have implemented price increases by charging for things that used to be free (snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in rooms, and the shuttle to town, which costs more than an uber). They have also cut back service levels, removing food and drink service at the pool past 2, eliminating free coffee by the pool in the morning, and not consistently having a local winery provide a free tasting on site in the afternoon.
The restaurant has fared worse. We had one of the worst meals I’ve ever had at a “fine dining” restaurant. The salmon was very fishy and served with oil soaked “grains.” The Caesar salad looking like it came form Costco, and the steak, while good, was egregiously overpriced. The service was sloppy and there were long waits for drinks. You should defiantly not go to the restaurant, which has changed chefs repeatedly with some simply walking off the job. Breakfast was also sub-par and extremely overpriced.

We are locals, but we heard great reviews about Farmhouse Inn’s restaurant, and it was outstanding!!
The setting is gorgeous and relaxed, the menu is simple but highly curated. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the broccolini starter and the chicken sandwiches, simple yet flavorful. The wine was excellent as well.
What made a great memory for us was the service. Our beautiful server Nielli was delightful, professional and has a great sense of humor and wisdom beyond her age.
This is our new favorite place in Sonoma wine country!!

Really beautiful property. Loved our cottage. The staff were very friendly and professional. Loved our stay so much. We will definitely go back. Dinner was wonderful but I felt the price was over the top. Our waitress was amazing and we loved our custard dessert

We stayed here for a night and the service was excellent. Rooms were very quaint and cozy. If you are going and simply looking for a great location and place to stay, it’s great.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was very under whelming. Food was just not what we expected from a Napa Valley Gem like The Farmhouse Inn. Over cooked octopus and several dishes that just seemed to clash. Their donut appetizer was confused and their chicken main dish lacked flavor and had way too much watery Au Jus that ruined the potatoes and made the dish a mess.
I hope they can recapture the food scene again, because if they can, this will quickly return to a 5 star place to stay.

We had an incredible stay at Farmhouse Inn and cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcomed and truly went above and beyond throughout our entire visit.
A special thank you to Wendy, who made the check-in process seamless and set the tone for a wonderful experience. Michael absolutely went out of his way for us as well. We had missed the breakfast window but he graciously allowed us to order and eat even after the kitchen had technically closed. That kind of hospitality is rare and did not go unnoticed.
Our massages were wonderful and left us feeling completely relaxed. The property itself is stunning and the atmosphere is everything you would hope for in a getaway like this.
We will absolutely be back and are already looking forward to our next visit. If you are looking for a place that combines beautiful surroundings with warm, attentive service, Farmhouse Inn is the place to be.
