Super comfortable and very clean rooms, a receptionist with reddish curly hair is very friendly, except for the rest and even one in particular who, due to my physical appearance, did not let me enter the hotel today after having 2 nights and having previously told her that I was staying at the hotel. The hotel is perfect, it just needs a more empathetic, responsible staff without social stigmas.

I stayed at the Staybridge Suites Sacramento - Folsom for 5 nights in May 2026.
I really wanted to like the Staybridge, but had to settle with an overall rating of 3 stars. There were numerous issues with the room (2 stars). Service was excellent (4 stars) and the location was good for the area (3 stars).
My room lacked anywhere convenient to put my suitcase - no luggage rack, table, or ottoman. When I asked at the front desk they said they had phased out luggage racks and got rid of the ottomans that used to be present. Instead, I just had to put my luggage on the couch.
My room did have a pretty good view of the hillside. Daily housekeeping was nice.
There were persistent noise issues. Fortunately, the rooms do not have paper thin walls but sound definitely carries over. Unfortunately, there was a baby in the next room (I could see their stroller outside) and they were there the entirety of my visit. On several occasions I could hear the baby crying, including in the middle of the night. Also, my room faced the courtyard and there was loud music and partying on Thursday night (well into 8:30 PM and approaching 9 PM). I was told that a construction group lived at the hotel and Thursday was like their Friday, but that they would be finished by the time of quiet hours at 10 PM. Nonetheless, it was disruptive having such loud noise from 8 - 9 PM.
One of my colleagues had an issue with the thermostat in their room - AC was on full blast and they would need to contact the front desk to change any temperature settings.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel has social days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with free beer & wine. Tuesday had chili and hot dogs - the hot dogs were delicious! Wednesday had baked potatoes. I was able to have breakfast on my first two days. The first day, the food was quite good (eggs, sausage, strawberries, waffles). On the second day, the melon and cantaloupe tasted a bit off and the orange juice was watered down. The other 3 days, breakfast was not offered early enough for my group.
The hotel has a business center, fitness center, pool, free laundry facilities (though you need to buy detergent), and an outdoor courtyard with grills.
There are numerous restaurants in walking distance. Lake Natoma and some state parks are nearby but there isn't much else in the area. There also is not easy access to public transportation (i.e. no trains or buses nearby). However, some local rental car companies are willing to pick you up or drop you off at the hotel, which I used when I did a 1 day car rental.
My overall stay was good (not great or bad) but there is definitely room for improvement if they renovate the rooms. The free food & drinks were the best part of the stay.
