  The view is great and the atmosphere was very peaceful when my wife and I stayed here for 5 days on our 1 year anniversary. The room was very clean and the view of the ocean is what completed the aesthetics. Also, Ursula was very helpful at the front desk! We will be definitely coming back!

  I ended up having a very delayed flight and Ursula was so gracious when she checked me in - fantastic customer service representative! The hotel is smaller, but very charming in its San Diego-unique ways. My room is just the right size for 1-2 people. Getting in so late at night, it was nice seeing how clean and comfortable the space is. The one thing they could do better is to provide water, but that's hit or miss in San Diego, so not worth removing a star. All in all, it is a lovely little hotel with awesome customer service!

  I recently stayed at Hotel Indigo in Del Mar for a work trip, and overall, my experience had both positive and concerning aspects. The hotel room itself was very nice, spacious, clean, and well-maintained. I also want to give a big thank you to the staff. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome. Unfortunately, my overall experience was overshadowed by a security issue. During my stay, my car was broken into while parked on the property. What made it even more frustrating was finding out there aren’t any security cameras in the parking lots or the underground garage area. For a hotel of this quality, especially in a luxurious neighborhood, that was honestly surprising and disappointing. I had also spoken to some of the housekeeping people and they had mentioned this wasn’t the first time a car break-in had occurred at this property. This shocked me even more since there are still no security cameras installed. The staff did try to offer complimentary breakfast and water, but this whole thing was a stressful situation to deal with during my work trip. I do not blame the staff at all because while I appreciate the comfort of the accommodations and the professionalism from the staff, I do think the hotel needs to take a closer look at its security to prevent situations like this in the future. The lack of basic security measures made an already stressful situation feel worse. Again, I really appreciate the kindness and professionalism especially from Barbara, Johnny, the housekeeping team that helped clean up the shattered glass, and the hotel general manager, Daniel. I strongly hope the hotel takes steps to improve security to allow for guests to feel safe in the future.

  I had such a great stay at Hotel Indigo Del Mar. From the moment we arrived, Barbara took such good care of us—got us set up with an amazing room and made everything feel easy and welcoming. She was genuinely friendly and went out of her way to share great recommendations for places to eat and things to do nearby, which made our trip even better. You can tell she really cares about the guest experience. It made all the difference. I would absolutely stay here again.

  For the class of hotel, I'd give it 5 stars. Definitely meets and exceeds the 3 star level it advertises. The view from the main level of the hotel is incredible, the lobby / breakfast / bar area is open and sliders provide a fun indoor / outdoor experience. Everything is well maintained with a fresh modern look. Location is great - walking distance to Del Mar. There are ways down to the beach (we followed a local surfer), but it is not an "accessible" path and involves crossing a busy rail line - so if you're looking for a day at the beach, definitely walk or drive into town for access. Amenities, I'd give 5 stars for the class of hotel. Breakfast was good - order from the menu, they have reasonable prices in their restaurant - especially during happy hour. They have a happy hour freebie - though not real impressed with the tiny plastic cup of Champaign. Staff is friendly and helpful. They do charge for parking - but it is Southern CA I guess. Pool heater was broken on one pool - kids swam in the other which was clean and warmish. Location is great 5 star, Del Mar is a very picturesque beach town with boutique stores and restaurants. The town is walkable either down the Coastal Highway (10 minutes) or if you are adventurous, you can walk some of the way along the bluff by the beach. San Diego is about a 30-40 minute drive. Rooms, I'd give 4 stars. They are pretty basic but clean and spacious. It was nice to open the windows a little to get the fresh air. Beds are sufficient. All in all, a great stay.
