  These guys went above and beyond. Extremely personable and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Ran into some wild turkeys in the parking lot. That was unexpected. They have 1hr Tesla test drives by appointment.

  We would absolutely stay here again. The location was perfect, avoiding the busiest part of downtown Davis, but very close to everything. The area was quiet, felt safe, and was very convenient. Edward at the front desk was so friendly, attentive, and helpful! Our room, a family suite with 3 beds (plus a pull-out couch) was immaculate. We had plenty of space as a family of 6. The complimentary breakfast was great, and offered plenty of variety. The gym was fantastic and the pool was also really nice. Our only note on the pool is that there is almost no shade at the pool, so be prepared with a hat and plenty of sunscreen. There are 2 tables with umbrellas if you want some shade next to the pool, but the pool itself doesn't really get any shade. Not a complaint, but good to know. We even used the washer and dryer down the hall from our room ($2 each, quarters only) and they worked well. Edward was helpful in swapping out our dollars for quarters. We will stay here again next time we're in Davis.

  I visited from San Francisco to showcase my artwork at the California ceramics exhibition. Our stay was pleasant until we discovered a small white bug in our bedding. I informed the front desk, but they failed to document the incident. The next day, I went to eat at the desk and noticed another small white bug. I took my plate to the desk and showed the hotel clerk, but he also failed to document it. The fact that he neglected to document the bug forced me to pay the full amount for my stay instead of being credited for part of it. It’s been almost two months, and the manager has ignored my calls.

  Alex at the front desk was wonderful. Friendly, informative and efficient. The hotel is clean and well kept. Our room was very good, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom ceiling and shower had mold present or I would have given 5 stars .

  We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Davis - University Area by IHG. The hotel was super clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the rooms felt spacious and comfortable. I also really appreciated their area guide; it was helpful, thoughtful, and such a great idea for guests who may not be familiar with Davis. Overall, a great experience and I’d happily stay here again!
