  Alex at the front desk was wonderful. Friendly, informative and efficient. The hotel is clean and well kept. Our room was very good, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom ceiling and shower had mold present or I would have given 5 stars .

  We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Davis - University Area by IHG. The hotel was super clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the rooms felt spacious and comfortable. I also really appreciated their area guide; it was helpful, thoughtful, and such a great idea for guests who may not be familiar with Davis. Overall, a great experience and I’d happily stay here again!

  It’s crazy what a difference people can make. I’m a diamond elite member who has stayed over 200 nights in the last year at IHG properties, and I can tell you the people 100% make the difference. In this case it was Bach, Alex, George and the rest of the incredible team at this superbly managed, trained and run Holiday Inn in Davis California. My wife and I had to travel to Davis for a family funeral and we put my mother-in-law up for a few nights at this location. Unfortunately her room was the last room available so we had to stay elsewhere (I don’t wanna throw anyone under the bus, but let’s just say it wasn’t even close). The staff helped make moms stay special, comfortable, and relaxing. Even though I wasn’t there, they took care of her as if she was a also a diamond elite member. They text messaged me throughout her stay to check on her and offer to be of service. This weekend also happened to be Mother’s Day weekend. While this hotel does not have a concierge or bell service. They do have exceptional service and it’s easy to see they really care about their guests. We bought flowers and a gift for her and asked for them to be delivered Sunday morning. They communicated throughout and made sure she received them to help brighten her day. She was so moved by receiving this (especially because she knew we were already out of town) and couldn’t understand how we made it happen. The bottom line, we could not have done it without the team at this hotel. They went above and beyond, and did not have to. I can’t recommend this location enough. One last thing — When we were there dropping off flowers and visiting mom we also noted the cleanliness of the entire property and the general good vibes and energy. Next time we come to Davis, we will absolutely be staying at this diamond in the rough — and truth be told, it ain’t really rough at all!

  A home away from home! I was greeted as I opened the door to the lobby and enjoyed a lively conversation with the desk staff. The room was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast had lots of choices, sure to please a wide variety of needs and wants. Near UCD and downtown, and right off the freeway. Easy on and off access. Super clean and neat property.

  Great place to stay when visiting Davis. Staff are exceptional, very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet. Walking distance to downtown Davis (15 mins).
