  The front desk staff member accused me of taking snacks without paying. I clearly told her that I had not taken any snacks and asked her to provide evidence. Instead of clarifying the situation, she insisted that she had seen me take them and continued accusing me of taking items without paying, even after I had explained my position. I found her repeated accusations insulting and unprofessional.

  CANCELED RESERVATIONS! Our soccer team chose to stay at this location and reserved a block of rooms. Our family decided to stay with team and booked a room. We gave our credit card number and received a confirmation number for our reservation. Months later the date arrived for the team to travel to Carlsbad to play in the tournament. We arrived at the hotel to get our room and the front desk customer service said the cancelled our reservation because they over booked the hotel. They stated they called us before arrival(which is a lie, we had no missed call from the hotel or a voicemail ). We demanded to speak to the supervisor. After speaking with supervisor she confirmed no call was placed and the property manager decided to cancel our reservation without warning because the hotel was over booked. I will continue to raise this up the IHG corporate chain to complain. This was completely unprofessional and a terrible way to treat guests. I’ve never had this issue with Marriott properties. My advice would be to book somewhere else because if book at the Holiday Inn express you may not have a place to stay upon arrival.

  I wish we had been told at check in about requesting housekeeping the night before. Issues with our sink being clogged, and shower head was pretty old. Staff are wonderful, and we so appreciate them!

  Our room had a musty smell the entire time we were here, even after opening the windows. The carpet in the room felt damp as if someone had washed it but it never dried. The bathroom was also quite dirty with dirt on the sides of the shower and doors. Breakfast was decent.

  Our room wasn't the best because it was super musty, smelled a little funky, and the carpet felt almost wet because of it. The front desk were always very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great, location was perfect for Legoland.
