  We had a great stay at the Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport! The location is hands-down the best part. It’s right across from the airport, and you can literally sit by the water and watch planes take off and land. If you’re into aviation or just enjoy relaxing with a great view, it’s an awesome spot. The pool and—more importantly—the hot tub were both open, clean, and well maintained, which is surprisingly hard to find these days. The staff was warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home throughout our stay. The only downside was the breakfast buffet. We received it for free thanks to my boyfriend’s Platinum status, and while it was fine, I personally wouldn’t pay for it. It was pretty average. Overall, though, this hotel exceeded our expectations. In fact, we had a much better experience here than at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins in San Francisco, where we paid significantly more and even had to pay for valet. If you’re looking for a comfortable, convenient hotel near SFO with friendly staff and a great location, I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

  On our return trip, my husband left his cell phone on the hotel shuttle. It was turned into the front desk. We were hours away by that time. The housekeeping manager, Lupe, was so kind when we called about the lost phone. She made it so easy to get it back. She took it to the post office and mailed it to us and just charged our card on file with the hotel. It was so simple and helpful. It’s so nice to have helpful and kind people in this world these days. Shout out to Lupe!

  I use to love staying at a Crown Plaza. They always seemed really nice. But this one is not, and the night auditor is totally the grouch from Sesame Street. I only stayed because that’s where United put me up after a missed connection. Took forever to get hot water I just thought there wasn’t any and ended up getting in a cold shower. It finally made it to the 10th floor about 3/4ths thru the shower. My room was also next to the elevator and clearly they haven’t serviced them since the 80’s so I had to listen the motors whine all night. Would not recommend. Pass if you can. If not try to get some quick sleep and check out.

  07/09/26-07/10/26 After a super long day and changes to my travel plans. I unexpectedly ended up staying a night here and didn’t check in until almost 1am. Mel at the front desk immediately greeted me with a smile and had the best personality. I NEVER write reviews but her hospitality I received cannot go unnoticed. She flipped my entire day around in the best ways possible and it’s left a lasting impression on me. She set the tone not only for the rest of the night but following into the next day and it was truly inspiring. Mel is someone every hotel WISHES they could have for their guests. I’m so thankful for our interaction after the day I had.

  We stayed here on the final leg of our trip so we’d be closer to the airport, the shuttle and late check out. I recommend just staying in the it’s and taking an uber. The shuttle was very unreliable. We waited 20 mins and it never showed up. We called and they said that the guy was taking a break and it would be an hour before he arrived and we could uber if we’d like or wait. We opted to wait. Waited an hour and then never showed up. The front desk receptionist said “sorry. Sucks to be you. I see he is at the stop. If you don’t see him that’s a you problem.” The rooms are dated. Clean, but dated. Usually that doesn’t matter except for when the only reason you’re there is to sit in the room until your next flight. Front desk was incredibly rude. The pool likely hasn’t been cleaned since the franchise opened. There’s no coffee in the lobby (I worked for IHG and they DONT clean those coffee pots in the room.) The hot water took forever to get hot in the shower and the elevator smelled like weed. it wasn’t worth the headache. Marriott just gained their most loyal customer.
