We had previously stayed at this hotel during the winter and really enjoyed our experience, so we decided to come back. Unfortunately, this time we were not aware that the air conditioning was not working, as we did not see that information on the hotel’s website. We were assigned a first-floor room with a sliding door that could be opened, but I feel we should have been informed about the situation at check-in so we could decide whether to stay or request a room on the second floor. I appreciated that the front desk staff listened to our concerns with understanding and apologized for the inconvenience. Overall, if you are considering staying here, I recommend checking beforehand to make sure the air conditioning is working, especially if it is important to you. For my husband, air conditioning is definitely a priority.

Staff is wonderful and probably the saving grace of this property. Rooms: Good, not great. Classic old school carpeting and wood furniture that goes with the Big Bear theme which was decent. There was adequate storage. A plus that there was a decent sized mini fridge and microwave. The TV could be a little bit more modern. It seems to be one of the first flat screens from 20 years ago. Price was amazing, so you get what you pay for. Amenities: Air conditioning was broken (again, probably a factor in the low price) in summer which is usually not a problem but hello climate change....also The website says that the pool is heated during the warmer months and I don't know what month is warmer than August, but the pool was definitely not heated. It was 73°. Hot tub is hot and spacious which is nice. Location is excellent as is a 5 minute walk to shops and restaurants in The Village. Overall a decent, average place. Possibly better during winter as the location might be better suited to winter activities.

This hotel does not have air conditioning it's been broken for about 5 years and the ice machines were also broken the only functional ice machine was on the third floor and it gave you about a glass at a time when we left we had a hard time getting ahold of the front desk to request a luggage rack when we got the luggage rack it was way too small everything that we had on the cart that they gave us fell off so I requested another one when I finally managed to get everything down to the first floor they brought the big one and the gentleman that was helping me took me the wrong way so it took me about 5 minutes to get back to my car and back to where he was in order to offload all of the luggage and put it in our car Big Time hassle stupi

So disappointed!!! Worst hotel stay we ever experienced. They failed to advise us the air conditioning was out (for 2 years) amongst many other things: Ice makers broke, electrical issues, coffee maker broke, and a manager that failed us. We rented 7 rooms, with seniors that suffered 80 room temps. We weren’t looking for free, but fair! The manager had excuses for everything! No other hotels could accommodate us. Horrible customer service! Very run down. Do your homework and ask questions if you are considering this place. Although as a frequent traveler, I don’t think they should be open without addressing major safety issues.

When I stayed, the room had no air conditioner, a Broken sliding screen door shower did not work correctly and the room had a musty odor. Front desk staff was OK however front desk manager Travis was very difficult to talk to very short with people and dismissive. I was offered late check out complementary later. I seen a bill on my credit card for $175 for a 1 PM late checkout absolutely ridiculous it is very difficult to talk to management. The only thing they tell you is to send things in an email so they have a paper trail, but almost impossible to get any kind of response from I would never stay there again. I would rather sleep outside with the bears and coyotes that you deal with management like they have at this facility zero recommendations for anyone to stay there the location was great, but I would rather sleep in a tent.
