We had our wedding here last weekend. INCREDIBLE experience to say the least. The hotel is beautiful and so accommodating to everyone. Sherri and Dennis took our experience over the top with helpful and professional hospitality. I couldn’t be happier with the stay we had. Thank you all at Chateau Big Bear!

This hotel exceeded our expectations for our four night stay. Sherri and Amy went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Checkin was easy. Our room was ready as promised and was upgraded to a jacuzzi overlooking the pool and big trees.
A full breakfast each morning was part of our rate. Dinner in the Chateau’s restaurant was very good. The live music in the bar was lively and entertaining. I strongly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at the Chateau Big Bear Hotel many times over the years. It has never let me and my family down. Their site is so nice. They offer a great breakfast in the morning and staff is always so helpful. A big shout out to Jeff who was at the front desk. He was friendly and helpful with some questions I had. Always my go to place to stay at in Big Bear.

The rooms were comfortable ,the bathroom is very outdated. My 2 problems with this hotel is they don't have automatic doors in the lobby. When you are trying to cart in all of your luggage and a cooler, someone has to hold both heavy glass doors open for you to be able to get in the lobby. Very hard to do if you are by yourself. And the main thing I had a problem with is that the elevator stops on a 1/2 floor to let you out. You have to get out with a fully loaded cart with all of your belongings and take them off of the cart, carry everything up 8 stairs and Re-load them on to another cart! It is the stupidest design of a hotel I have ever seen. I asked the clerk,he just yell down if you need any help transferring everything. This would make me not want to return and stay again.

I stayed in Room 124 for 3 nights over the Tour de Big Bear cycling event weekend. My balcony room overlooked the pool about 20’ above ground level. Aside from guest noise from the pool area and hallway, my room was very quiet. No stomping noise from the second floor. My Double-Queen room was very nice and updated, but I missed the absence of a comfortable chair as there was only one desk chair. My big gripe about the room was the self-closing bathroom door that I had to prop open with my ice chest. This is a real nuisance you don’t think about until you deal with it. The in-room coffee was pretty mediocre: a Keurig machine would be much better. The fireplace seems to be the only source of heat in the summer, which you kinda need in the early morning. The AC was very efficient.
The hotel was fully booked for the event weekend, and check-in was a bit of a mess as some rooms weren’t ready until 5:30pm. I was able to get into my room at 4:30 (posted checkin at 4) by being proactive and checking myself that housekeeping had finished my room. Staff was friendly, but overwhelmed.
Breakfast was good; with two egg choices, a meat, pancake machine, and other standard fare. They could have better bread choices besides standard grocery bread and untoastable mini bagels.
One serious issue is the lack of accessibility into the hotel for the mobility impaired: all 3 entrances are double-doored manually opened - no automatic openers on any of them. Desk staff can’t see the doors to notice if someone needs help, so you could be stuck outside waiting for some random guest to happen along to open the doors. The hotel is listed as ADA Accessible on the website, but this situation negates that claim (along with the aforementioned self-closing bathroom door).
I enjoyed my stay, and would stay again, but they really need to address the entry problem.
