  This is a great spot close to UC Berkeley. Clean, modern and comfortable. Comfortable beds. we had a great stay. Definitely recommend. There is a great rooftop area with gas fireplaces and view of the bay in the distance. The valet parking requirement is interesting, but they park and get your car promptly. And you're not parked on the street.

  Facility is nice.. but I woke up over 5 times due to the traffic noise from outside. I barely slept ahead of an important day. My room was directly facing University Ave. The receptionist couldn't help change rooms.

  STAY AWAY!!! This hotel can't be trusted. Full Stop. Awful management. Due to a family emergency, I had to cancel my stay. Before doing so, I spoke with a front desk representative who specifically told me that I would not be charged. Based on that assurance, I proceeded with the cancellation. The next day, I spoke with the manager, JEROME, who was unprofessional and completely reversed what I had been told and charged me for the reservation anyway. What is most troubling is not just the charge itself, but the fact that the hotel refused to honor the information provided by its own staff. If guests cannot rely on what they are told by hotel employees, how can they trust any information coming from the property? A manager's job is to resolve issues fairly and stand behind the commitments made by their team, especially in situations involving a family emergency. Instead, I was left feeling misled and taken advantage of. The lack of consistency, accountability, and customer care was shocking. I would strongly caution future guests to get everything in writing, because verbal assurances from staff apparently mean nothing here.

  It is clean, roomy, and has a super comfortable bed. The downside? It is $560 per night during UC Berkeley’s graduation time. Also, the surrounding area is kind of sketchy, with homeless people hanging around and trashing the front parking lot of the 7/11 store across the street. The hotel door doesn’t open as you walk in. You either have to use your room key to tap in or you have to push a buzzer to alert the person at the front desk to let you in. It is possible to take the bus (#51B) which is right in front of the hotel to go to the campus stadium for the graduation commencement. And there are fresh orchid lei sellers selling them at $45 or $55 each just outside the stadium’s entrance. No need to order them from Ashby Flower for $82.69 each (with delivery). Bus is $2.50 each way using the clipper card or $6.70 by the Tesla robotaxi from Cafe Etoile (near Trader’s Joe) to Wright House near the stadium.
