  Inside the rooms was nice, and cool. Outside the rooms was heated uncomfortably high. The continental breakfast was incredibly weak. They ran out of eggs and didn’t refill them, no bacon, no waffles but for some reason the waffle condiments were still out for use.

  First thing to note is you are in the middle of the CA desert so you should not expect much. The staff was very nice. But the hotel is old, run down and needs a renovation. Not what you expect from HIE.

  Room was good and large but smelled a little funny. Pool and hot tub were dirty. Breakfast was decent. Very convenient to a large Tesla supercharger.

  As a frequent guest of IHG properties, this was easily the most disappointing one I have stayed at. The hotel is extremely dated and poorly maintained. The room felt dusty and stale, likely due to the aging carpets and overall condition of the property. The bathroom sink barely drained, the lobby hand-sanitizing stations were not working, and the room door handle was loose and wobbly. Worse, the door would not fully close without extra effort. The air conditioner was so loud that it repeatedly woke us up throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. To give an idea of how outdated this property is, the room still contains a safety notice warning guests not to leave “car phones” visible in their vehicles. A Gen Z guest would probably think a car phone is an app, a Bluetooth accessory, or something from a museum. The notice is so old it makes me wonder if ownership is still using car phones themselves. What surprises me most is that this property carries the IHG brand. The condition of the hotel does not justify the nightly rates being charged. I have stayed at roadside budget motels that were cleaner, quieter, newer, and better maintained. The staff was courteous, but the property itself desperately needs renovation and basic upkeep. Of all the IHG hotels I have stayed at, this ranks at the bottom of the list.

  Very clean rooms and pleasant staff. The hotel was also quiet. The room was super dated. One usable electrical outlet between the beds. I haven't used a cable box in over a decade, so the TV situation was a blast from the past. The shower leaked a pool all over the bathroom floor despite keeping the shower curtain closed. It was a very spacious bathroom though, with awesome lighting. Breakfast. *Sigh* The last Holiday Inn Express we stayed at the day before (Sedona) had gluten free bagels and muffins. It was so nice to actually have that option. I was sad to not see it offered here. Some packets of Quaker grits in the basket with the oatmeal would have been nice. It's another GF option that would have been nice. The breakfast staff were super nice and helpful, so that was a major plus. The Sedona location also had little cards in the rooms and on the tables at breakfast with the housekeeper & breakfast staff names and a QR code to give them a tip. I loved that! I was hoping to have those here, but nope. The staff work hard and a little extra recognition in the form of tips would likely go a long way for them. Overall it was a comfortable stay and we had everything we needed. Just some little extras that wouldn't have gone amiss to consider. We appreciated the comfy place to stay for the night. Edit: The response below is a perfect example of how responsive and caring the staff is. This is why I always choose Holiday Inn Express when it's available at my destination. Thank you again!! 🧡
