  Our room looked like it was pretty newly up graded and was very clean and comfy. Breakfast wss a step above others, as they served bacon as well as sausage, AND BISVUITS AND SAUSAGE GRAVY!! The lady who worked the kitchen welcomed us and took down our room number. My companions left for several minutes, and the nice lady came over to me snd asked if she could get me some more orange juice or coffee, or anything else, as she saw I walked with a cane, and said to just let her know if I needed help. A bit nicer than regular Best Western, would abdolutely come back!!

  Booked expecting a BW PLUS property. This is more like a standard BW hotel. The lobby is small and unassuming, the hallways seemed clean. We had a mobility access queen room that is in dire need of some maintenance. Starting with the deadbolt on the door that won’t engage. When we entered the room, the AC was turned off and it was 97 outside. When we turned on the AC to high, it sounded like there was a diesel truck running in the room with us. We asked at the front desk, where were were shown another room with the same loud AC unit. The solution from the person at the front desk was to wear earplugs while in the room. We asked about leaving the hotel, and were told the cancelation policy was one day before checkin, so if we wanted to leave, we could loose our payment. The positive was that most of the bathroom was updated with new tile in the walk in shower, and plenty of grab bars. In the bathroom, the bottom of the bathroom door is somehow torn up, there is no lid on the toilet so when you flush, stuff can spray into the room. There are not enough hooks to hang your towels (only two on the back of the door). The wall under the toilet paper dispenser is peeling off, and the a small part of the wall has been repainted a different color. The shower-head needs cleaning as about 1/3 of the outlets are blocked. In the room, there are many areas where the paint has been repainted, but in a slightly different shade and a different sheen. It looks tacky. The refrigerator was cold enough and there was generally enough light in the room. At night the sounds from the highway about 200 feet away was very evident. The breakfast was just about as expected for a BW hotel, and it was edible.

  The hotel itself is clean. But outside there is garbage and trash everywhere. The parking lot is gross and we worried about our car overnight. The hotel needs updating and repair. Staff were kind. Breakfast is very limited. The location itself near the outlets and plenty of restaurants was good, but right next to highway it was loud.

  I had a great experience at the Best Western Plus Inn & Suites in Barstow, and a big part of that was Christina Vasquez, one of the night managers. I was having trouble getting the air conditioning working properly in my room, and Christina took the time to help me figure it out. When I managed to spill pistachios while bringing in my luggage, she even jumped in and helped me clean them up. She also gave me a great recommendation for where to eat in town. What really stood out was how genuinely friendly and helpful she was throughout all of it. Nothing seemed like a bother. She made me feel welcome and taken care of, which is exactly what good hospitality should be. Best Western is fortunate to have someone like Chrisrina representing the hotel. She made a very good stay even better.
