  The lady at the front desk was so nice! We arrived around 6am, last minute walk in. Tired from being on the road all night and driving through a storm. She was able to get us a room ready by 10am instead of the usual 3pm even with a big group leaving from the night before.

  Helpful, accommodating staff. Very comfortable bed, clean rooms. Beautiful center courtyard with open sky, tropical trees, pool, hot tub, picnic areas. Peaceful and pleasant. Yes, some tenants present, but very polite and quiet. Met an interesting artist.

  Stay away & go to Extended Stay! Went in for a prior booking and the lady working there was plain rude and racist. Simply walking in and asked for the reservation & started yelling at me to go to get my license plate number after telling her sure and requesting to search my booking in the meantime. Started knocking on the table and it was plain weird. Told her I’m leaving and she was shocked. Went to Extended stay and had a great experience and cheaper too! We started talking about my experience at best western and he said that there are stories of a lady working there who is awful while another worker is amazing. Sounds like I found one of them.

  SureStay is my go to place in Bakersfield. I will always book here first for several reasons. First of all is the value. Rooms here are usually below properties of similar characteristics. Second is the pool area with above average landscaping including mature palm and other trees. Third the staff have always been extremely friendly and professional. Fourth the rooms are spacious. In conclusion I think you would be foolish to stay anywhere else in Bakersfield.

  We stayed last July 25 and it was a horrible experience, initially. TV did not work, no internet. Maintenance man tried for 20 min to fix it - unsuccessful. All the plugs were very old and would not work for any of our devices and there weren't many in the room or bathroom. They had to give us a new room while we waited in the lobby. Looked like they rented to homeless people. Pool was green! We did not go in it. Drove a long way and too tired to look for another hotel. Breakfast was good!
