Do not book this hotel!!!!! We reserved a deluxe room with sea view and balcony for my birthday. At check-in we got a standard room with no balcony, no view, and a window facing an interior hallway. Reception said it wasn’t their problem and told us to deal with Booking.com ourselves. They took our money, gave us less than we paid for, and refused any responsibility. We contacted their support and waited 8 days for a reply. Nothing. No one ever got back to us. Dishonest and unprofessional. Avoid.

No AC in bed room. Living room AC makes noise. Window at living room broken blinds. Rooms are not clean. Asked front desk about AC, saying my reservation through 3rd party Expedia, so they can’t do anything and offered me fan. Doesn’t make sense what he told me. Not worth at all money I paid. Not recommended.

This hotel is priced well for working class visitors. We had a balcony, kitchen, large bathroom, and a water closet. We can walk everywhere. Kayaking, snorkeling, hikes and it’s very close to public beach. It’s not fancy , but it was great for us. I liked being in the hills. The walk up the hill was what my body needed. The staff was just great. They were very attentive. The island had a power outage. We barely noticed. It was fixed by the time we got back for showers etc. I’d stay again.

We liked the hotel . We had a roomy room, balcony, the walk up the hill made my legs so strong! It has nice views of Avalon hills and some ocean. The staff was so friendly and courteous. If you need spotless and new amenities it might not be for you: it was perfect for us. We could walk to snorkel, kayak, breakfast, shopping. All of it. I would stay here again. I can’t afford fancy. I appreciate an option for working class visitors. Thank you front desk! So kind , upbeat and thoughtful.

We waited 45 minutes just to get checked in because there was one person working, and she was in no rush to do anything. In retrospect, we didn't need to be in a hurry for the disgusting trauma that was our room. The room smelled like mildew, mold, fried food, and despair. It turns out there is good reason for all of that. The kitchen was disgusting with built up grease around the stove. The cabinets were...sticky. I'm hoping with grease. There was mold, so much mold. Around the broken window fan, in the bathroom, and probably other places as well. There was some sort of slime in the bathtub. And also mold. There were dirty marks on every wall. The couch maybe used to be blue, in the little of the fabric you could see through the grime. This place was also falling apart. Sun awnings were falling down, blocking our door. Stucco walls were crumbling. The stair railing had detached from the ground in multiple places and moved when I tried to use it. There were broken tiles on the floor and around the bathroom sink. One of them was sharp and could've cut someone not wearing shoes. Good thing there was no way I was letting my children take their shoes off in there. The worst part? Expedia. They were no help in our desperation. They called the hotel, which didn't answer, so we got a form email saying that was all they could do. One call. This place is a literal health hazard. It should be removed from their site to protect other travelers, and we should get a full refund, especially because we had to get a last minute AirBnB. We were lucky to find anything else on an island at the last minute.
