  The Agrarian Hotel in Arroyo Grande is welcoming, well maintained, and a great value. We had car trouble on a long road trip and needed somewhere to stay with our family, including our dog. I found this hotel on Expedia, thought the price was good, and decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad we did. After a stressful couple of days and a trip that had pretty much gone off the rails, the Agrarian was a very welcome change. The hotel is extremely well maintained and feels surprisingly nice and ornate for a limited-service hotel. The staff was very friendly throughout our stay. The hotel also has a really cool creekside walkway that was perfect for walking our dog. The rooms seemed to all have nice balconies, which was a great amenity. Our room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom was particularly nice. The free breakfast was also excellent, with a lot of options including make-your-own waffles, oatmeal, cereal, eggs, potatoes, sausage, fresh fruit, and yogurt. They even had a nice coffee machine that made a fresh cup on demand. The neighborhood is cute and has a lot of cool-looking bars and restaurants, and the hotel is conveniently located close to the 101 freeway. Would highly recommend this hotel. It was a very pleasant surprise, especially after the kind of trip we had been having!

  Beautiful well maintained hotel in a great area. Lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

  I have an 8 year old and this place has been more than suitable for us. Smallish pool but, the beautiful town around more than makes up for it. Also, very close to Pismo and that was ok but, Avila beach was better. I highly recommend a trek up to san Simeon for the elephant seals and Hearst state beach worth the hour drive!!!

  The woman working the evening of May 13th has a really bad attitude. Sitting upon entering the lobby, staring down at her phone in the corner, I had to peak over the desk to see her. I said hello I'm checking in. A pause. She slowly gets up and just stares at me and her screen. No smile. No greeting. Hands me my key and let's it go before a even get a firm hold on it and I almost drop it. Then she goes back to her corner to scroll some more on her phone. The next morning when I go to shower, the tub immediately fills up, clogged. This cost me about 20 minutes because I will not stand in ankle deep water for a shower. I saw sand in between starting and stopping the water. I did not go to the beach there the day before so it wasn't from me. Gross. Between the terrible and incredibly unwelcoming check in to the maintenance issue, this was a big disappointment as I have stayed here many times with wonderful professional agents and no issues with my rooms. I pay more here, for quality and Hospitality. The rates aren't necessarily average. I expect better for the higher rate I pay to stay here. Otherwise what's the point.
