A FOODIE Gem in the Pines — Sheridan House Inn
From the moment we arrived, the Sheridan House Inn felt like a peaceful retreat tucked among the pines. Our hosts, Mark and Debbie, welcomed us with warmth and humor that made us feel instantly at home. If you’re messaging the inn, it’s probably Debbie replying with her signature kindness — and if your mouth is watering, it’s probably because Mark is in his commercial kitchen creating something extraordinary.
Breakfasts were a highlight — each plate a work of art and flavor. From the fresh fruit “pizza” to the salmon quesadilla, every dish was crafted with care and served on the porch overlooking the forest. The French press coffee and house mugs added a personal touch that made mornings unforgettable. And while the breakfasts are already legendary, the dinners deserve their own spotlight: a sight, smell, and taste sensation that makes you genuinely believe Mark’s commercial kitchen is headed toward a Michelin mention one day.
Our room, Fernwood, was spotless, serene, and thoughtfully designed. The shower alone deserves a mention — it’s larger than most entire European bathrooms, a luxurious surprise that made the stay even more comfortable. And the private porch was the perfect bonus: a quiet, tucked‑away space where we could invite other couples we met to share a bottle of wine once the main cabin closed for the night.
We even appreciated the complimentary EV charger right outside — a modern convenience that fit seamlessly into the rustic setting.
As a Select Registry property, the Sheridan House Inn already stands out for exceptional hospitality — and right now they’re offering double points, making an already memorable stay even more rewarding.
And it’s no surprise that last month they were named one of Tripadvisor’s Top 20 Bed & Breakfasts and Inns in the United States, proudly landing at #16. After staying here, we can say that ranking is absolutely deserved.
The inn sits in Williams, Arizona, a charming mountain town of about 3,500 residents living at 7,000 feet. While Phoenix was baking at 110°, we were enjoying a perfect 80° afternoon breeze. They even get snow in the winter, adding to the town’s year‑round magic. Williams was wonderfully festive during the Route 66 Centennial and America250 celebrations — but locals say any holiday is a reason for a parade down their nostalgic old‑town streets. And of course, Williams proudly serves as the gateway to the Grand Canyon, making it the ideal home base for adventure and relaxation.
Sheridan House Inn isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience that restores your soul. And it’s surprisingly accessible — just a 6‑hour drive from Los Angeles, 3 hours from Las Vegas, and about 2.5 hours from Phoenix.
We visited over the Fourth of July weekend, and the inn’s festive spirit shone through — laughter, fireworks, and genuine hospitality. Sheridan House Inn isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience that restores your soul.
Highly recommend for anyone seeking tranquility, gourmet breakfasts, unforgettable dinners, and hosts who truly love what they do.
