Just off I-10 in the shadow of Sentinel Peak, The Tuxon Hotel revives the golden age of the American road trip—minus the scratchy towels and stale coffee. We've rebuilt the classic motor lodge for modern travelers who value design, culture, and character over clichés.
Shady Cactus Swim Club
Our pool isn't just an amenity—it's Tucson's most photogenic poolside scene. Join us daily at 5:30 PM for the Shady Toast, frozen slushy shots, and that golden hour magic where travelers and locals mix effortlessly over chili-laced cocktails and Baja bites.
Downtown Tucson Hotel Location
Located near the Mercado District and minutes from the University of Arizona, The Tuxon offers easy access to downtown Tucson, 4th Avenue's indie shops, desert hiking trails, Sonoran hot dogs, and dive bars—by bike, foot, or streetcar. Complimentary bikes and free parking included. It's your basecamp for the authentic Tucson experience.
Desert-Modern Hotel Rooms
Our boutique guest rooms feature walk-in tile showers, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, curated local art, and beds designed for real rest. Smart, stylish, and unmistakably Tucson.
This isn't boutique hotel cosplay—it's the real deal. Wild desert. Urban edge. No wrong turns.
This place is amazing!! Super friendly staff. The rooms were clean and beautiful! We will be going back.

I usually enjoy staying at this hotel and have stayed here multiple times, but tonight was incredibly frustrating
When I returned after a long day, there were no parking spots available. The hotel already has limited parking, yet a semi truck and a truck with a boat had been allowed to take up a significant amount of the available space. On a busy holiday weekend, I don’t understand why this was allowed…
Because there were no spots left, I had to park in a separate lot that is locked overnight behind the hotel. Every other time I’ve stayed here, I’ve had easy access to my car whenever needed. This time, I have to go to the front desk in the morning and ask someone to unlock the lot just to access my vehicle
The front desk attendant was understanding and apologized.. She explained that one of the guests with an oversized vehicle had recently had surgery, and I completely understand the need for accommodations. However, I don’t understand why accommodating these vehicles required taking up so many of the hotel’s already limited parking spaces.
Overall, I feel the other guests, including myself, were not taken into consideration, especially during a busy holiday weekend. I’ve always enjoyed staying here, which made this experience especially disappointing

Mother in law stayed here and they were super rude about charging her a $200 smoking fee for “vape detectors” when I can assure you for certain they are not smokers. Management didn’t care to explain or hear her out just charged her and left it at that. Will be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

There was a time when The Tuxon felt quaint and exclusive. For years, I have been staying at this property because of the great customer service and comfortable accommodations. Unfortunately, after this visit, I will never book at this property again for a number of reasons.
Upon arrival, I was registered with a key card that did not work. So, I was forced to walk all the way back to the front desk three times on an injured foot. Each time I was told the issue was fixed, but it wasn't until the third time.
The first night, the loud music playing at the pool reverberate through out the hotel until late making it difficult to rest after driving for hours.
On the second night, my stay became very concerning due to the fact that the hotel hosted a pool party that closed off the parking lot to paying guests and we were forced to park in a dirt lot next door. Again the music and partying went on until late. Keep in mind, this was a Sunday night. At 2:30 in the morning, there were people fighting and screaming in the parking lot right outside my door. As a female traveling by myself, I was really alarmed and scared. Things finally settled down very late into the morning. I'm honestly surprised that the police did not show up. It's sad to see how this property has gone down the gutter.
