Just off I-10 in the shadow of Sentinel Peak, The Tuxon Hotel revives the golden age of the American road trip—minus the scratchy towels and stale coffee. We've rebuilt the classic motor lodge for modern travelers who value design, culture, and character over clichés.
Shady Cactus Swim Club
Our pool isn't just an amenity—it's Tucson's most photogenic poolside scene. Join us daily at 5:30 PM for the Shady Toast, frozen slushy shots, and that golden hour magic where travelers and locals mix effortlessly over chili-laced cocktails and Baja bites.
Downtown Tucson Hotel Location
Located near the Mercado District and minutes from the University of Arizona, The Tuxon offers easy access to downtown Tucson, 4th Avenue's indie shops, desert hiking trails, Sonoran hot dogs, and dive bars—by bike, foot, or streetcar. Complimentary bikes and free parking included. It's your basecamp for the authentic Tucson experience.
Desert-Modern Hotel Rooms
Our boutique guest rooms feature walk-in tile showers, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, curated local art, and beds designed for real rest. Smart, stylish, and unmistakably Tucson.
This isn't boutique hotel cosplay—it's the real deal. Wild desert. Urban edge. No wrong turns.
I paid $35 + tax via ResortPass to have access to the pool at this hotel. I booked over 30 days in advance. When I arrived at the hotel, there was a 21+ pool party happening from 4-9pm. There were close to 100 people in the pool area. This info was not provided to me while booking or anytime after. The woman at the front desk was rude. She said "You can still use the pool (Im not 21+ btw) or contact resort pass for a refund" Lmao yeah right! I paid close to $40 to enjoy what is marketed as a quiet family friendly pool, not a 100 guest pool party (which was $18 to get into btw, half what I paid). In addition, the refund window via ResortPass ends the night before at 12am. Bottom line is they failed to updated their blackout date or didn't notify any guests that had already booked for that date and I was scammed out of $40. STAY FAR AWAY! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!
UPDATE: After reading reviews via google and IHG's website, It seems like this happens very often! The most recent one star reviews are all similar situations. Guests arriving to unannounced events with a DJ and very loud music. Families arriving to "Gay Pride DJ Night" with drunk guests everywhere after being told this was a family friendly hotel. Franchise hotel that tries to make money anyway they can, and don't care about the ACTUAL guests. Once IHG gets enough direct complaints, they'll stop doing it. Hopefully that time comes soon.

I usually don’t leave bad reviews b/c I am a simple person and easy to please. But in this case I am utterly baffled and in total disbelief
The hotel itself isn’t bad at all…. Pricey for what it is and what is offered or should I say not offered.
I am livid to say the least. IHG is a joke. Problem after problem, since the time I checked in here. The only resolution to any problem is to offer vouchers for breakfast ( which nobody seems to know the hours of) or cocktails ( which doesn’t start until 4pm). If you have any issues here don’t expect them to be addressed or corrected in any shape form or fashion. I’m still waiting to be contacted by the hotel and/or IHG regarding the issues I’ve encountered. Here they are more worried about the aesthetics and the money rather than the concerns of guests. As far as customer service is concerned, let’s just say they are not! I’ve never in all my years had a hotel act like this. Stay here at your own risk, and if issues arise don’t expect anything to be done about them. I highly suggest and recommend you spend your money elsewhere. IHG just lost a longtime customer who frequents ( or used to anyway) their properties over all others. I should have understood the red flags when I was told that my points can be refunded and I can choose another hotel to stay at ( yes this was said by the GM of this place). I am disgusted in the way matters have been attended to by VOCO TUXON and IHG.
Update part 2:
I do understand the policies in place to protect both parties, it would have been a courtesy to offer assistance when you were told that the link in said email was not accessible. Instead your only response was you sent it to a few other people that day and they had no issues. So again you didn’t offer any sort of remedy or help with the situation. As far as the offer to waive the cancellation fee and offer a refund , it was said with disrespect and as though you couldn’t care less about whether or not your guest stay here. Like I said, I should have read that red flag warning. Your offer of vouchers is a bs way of saying here is something for you to go away. You can’t simply offer hush vouchers and claim it as a way to make someone’s experience more enjoyable. Why even offer breakfast if you can’t get the hours of operation to be consistent. 2x in week with issues. How do you think that looks on your part? As I told customer relations when they told me they would pass the issues onto the hotel management….. nothing will be done. It was a waste of time and breath to even mention anything because we all know NOTHING will be done about it. We will leave it at we respectfully agree to disagree. I hope for the sake of other guests you seriously improve on your hospitality skills and actually correct issues when they arise instead of politely arguing with your guests that you’re right!

If you plan on staying here and want a peaceful rest, do not get a poolside room. The bar opens up to the pool area. There was loud music and loud patrons going until midnight on a Saturday night. Other nights might be calmer. I feel we should have been informed about this when we called to make our reservation. We did not request pool side.
The room was fine. I think they’re going for a loft/industrial chic vibe. Black metal pipes abound. The only soft furnishings were the bed and a woven rope chair. The room was very bright at night so bring a sleep mask if you need a dark room.

It is SO freaking cute.🌵🌄 Such a little desert motel, oasis. So colorful, and vibey, a decent price, small room but everything you need and nothing you dont. Layout very well planned, good size tv, comfy sheets. Even down to the blinds are cool 🤣 (vertical adjust, half sheer, half blackout). I just love it so much. Even a bar with food, a beautiful pool, and a gate that closes at night for safety. They thought of everything!!♡🌵

This is the cutest little artistic boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Tucson, Arizona! It is close to everything, gated, and made us feel safe the entire time. The pool area is absolutely amazing and really adds to the whole vibe of the property.
Cassandra was an absolute game changer. She took such great care of us, joked around with my son, and was attentive, kind, and welcoming to everyone. She never made anyone feel like they were inconveniencing her, even when she was busy. Cassandra truly made our stay better and represents the kind of hospitality that makes guests want to come back.
The only thing that negatively affected our experience was the bartender, ANA. Unfortunately, she was not welcoming or courteous, and even my son noticed how rude her attitude felt. The bar was empty, yet she acted as though she was too busy to assist anyone. Her demeanor came across as unpleasant and unprofessional, which is disappointing in a hospitality setting.
