  Honestly, what a breath of fresh air this place is! So happy I found it. The staff is incredible. Which usually points to fantastic management and taking care of their lovely employees. Everyone is so cordial and genuine. From David at the front desk and Josh at the bar, every single team member was so sweet and helpful. Our room was lovely, so clean and well appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable extended stay. It will be the first place I book for family and friends in town from here on out. I might even just visit to hang and have a yummy bite as I live nearby. How often can you say that of local hotel?!? Five stars without a second thought. Hospitality is not dead, it’s alive and well at Holiday Inn Airpark in North Scottsdale. Thank you!

  Flying cockroaches. Family of crickets. Broken shower. Broken bathroom fan. Mostly unusable TV. We booked a 3 night stay as part of a promotional offer, but had to leave in the middle of the night due to serious issues. Night 1: we couldn't turn on the shower. The night attendant told us they "get 20 calls a day about the shower, you just have to pull really hard". I couldn't do it, and my husband barely got it to work after 20 minutes. Half the TV channels said no signal and no smart TV options. The bathroom door lock was broken and no bathroom fan, so it was perpetually damp. Night two: getting ready for bed at 10pm and there are loud crickets IN the room. My husband went to take care of it and found a whole family under a chair that we couldn't reach. They offered a new room. Two of the rooms they showed us smelled awful, even the attendant said it smelled bad. We eventually accepted a room on another floor and hauled all our stuff up. Day/Night 3: We got a free breakfast voucher for the bugs in our room. The food was decent and Eric at the cafe was very kind (he was the only good thing about the hotel). At 1130pm, we were trying to sleep when we heard something flying. Lights on, huge cockroach climbing up the wall. We requested they move us to another IHG, but they're an independently owned franchise and can't do that. They offered us 30% off (seriously?). We packed up and left at 1130pm with nowhere to go. We decided we'd rather sleep in our car at a truck stop than have cockroaches and crickets crawling all over us. (For reference, we had no open food anywhere).

  Employees Brandon, Josh and Eric provided top quality service. Josh was our night server at the restaurant and Eric was our morning server. Both excellent at what they do. Brandon was the front desk clerk. Also excellent. The rooms were clean and cold. The lobby was clean and smelt fresh. The pool was cool and perfect for a quick swim to offset the heat. There is a gym, we didn't go in but anytime I walked by there were guests using it. We purchased, the burgers were good. The fries, seasoned well. I got the spicy chicken sandwich. It was ok. That's the only negative thing I can say. Josh was funny, he made our kids laugh. He enjoys his job, that's easy to see. The breakfast buffet was fully stocked. Eric made sure everything was fully stocked. He was very on top of it all and he was working with a new employee. He was kind and patient with him. Very good trainer. Breakfast was very good. Buffet was $15 and our kids ate free. Very reasonable and for what we got, great value. Overall, this location is a good place for a traveling family. I could see myself staying here if I were traveling alone too. Great job. Also, take advantage of the free cookies when you walk in :)
