This was, by far, the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. When our baseball team booked this hotel, it had a 4.2-star Google rating. After our stay, I’m honestly not sure how it earned that rating.
We stayed during a baseball tournament, and the price for the weekend was extremely high considering the quality of the hotel and service. The front desk staff and breakfast staff were consistently rude and unprofessional. The rooms were filthy. We ended up wiping down every surface with Lysol before unpacking, and even then, the room still felt dirty.
Our first room had an air conditioner that was so loud it was impossible to sleep. We notified the front desk, and although the staff member was initially rude, she eventually agreed the unit was unacceptable and moved us to another room. She also told us they would block the room so no other guest would have to stay there. Unfortunately, another family from our baseball team was later assigned that exact room.
One of the most upsetting parts of our stay involved a family on our team who uses a cane. They were repeatedly treated and told they were “in the way” by hotel staff. At one point, a kitchen employee even stated that she didn’t care about disabilities because she had a job to do. That comment was completely unacceptable and showed a shocking lack of compassion and professionalism.
Our team ultimately checked out early and moved to the Majestic Mountain Inn. The difference was night and day. The staff there were welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind. Breakfast was relaxed instead of rushed, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the property offered a much quieter and more private atmosphere.
If you’re considering staying at Best Western, I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Based on our experience, this hotel was overpriced, poorly maintained, and provided some of the worst customer service we’ve encountered.
If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would.
Worst hotel experience ever. The service was absolutely awful. The price of the rooms was ridiculous, and this hotel has no business being in the hospitality industry. They do not seem interested in serving their customers. They just want your money and then want you to move on.
Kelly at the front desk was extremely rude and did not want to help customers. She rolled her eyes when you tried to have a conversation with her. Unfortunately, though, it was not just Kelly. Every person we interacted with at the front desk was rude. It was clearly a team culture at this hotel. They treated us as though they did not want us there.
The hotel has a common area in the front with couches, chairs, a television, and tables. During a brutal storm, our baseball games were delayed for three hours, so our families used this common area to gather, spend time together, and play games while we waited to see if our games would be played. The staff appeared frustrated and annoyed that guests were actually using this common space. We were made to feel as though our presence was an inconvenience.
The treatment of one of our family members who uses a cane was especially disappointing. He was told that he and his cane were in the way and needed to move out of the way of other people. That was incredibly rude and completely unacceptable. It did not feel inclusive or welcoming, and it raised serious concerns about how guests with mobility needs are treated.
The breakfast experience was just as bad. The breakfast attendant was rude to guests trying to get food. She would push her way through people without saying “excuse me” and became frustrated with guests who she felt were taking too long while serving themselves. As soon as 9:00 a.m. arrived, she began kicking people out of the seating area while they were still finishing their breakfast. Despite the area being a common space, she was sending people back to their rooms. It was a very odd and uncomfortable scene.
The food itself was awful. I have stayed in plenty of hotels and understand that hotel breakfasts are generally similar. However, the level of care and effort here was far below what I would expect. The eggs were poured from a bag in front of you into a warmer and were cold. Overall, the quality of the food and the level of service were both extremely poor.
The rooms were dirty and dingy. There were dust bunnies all over the floor, and it did not appear that the rooms had been properly vacuumed or swept. It felt like a dirty mop had simply been pushed around, moving dirt from one place to another. The condition of the room made us uncomfortable.
The most frustrating part is the price. The room was $109 per night the weekend before we stayed there, but the price jumped to $279 per night the weekend we were there for a baseball tournament. That is an enormous increase. The hotel was fully occupied because of the baseball teams, yet the service did not improve to match the price. In fact, we were treated as though having guests there was a chore.
The pictures shown online are also not realistic representations of what you will experience at this hotel.
We ultimately decided to stay our final night at Majestic Mountain Inn, and the difference was unbelievable. It was the absolute opposite experience. The hospitality was five stars. The warmth of the staff was refreshing and was exactly what hospitality should be about: making guests feel welcome and at home. The rooms were excellent, and the facilities were well cared for. Best of all, the price was about half of what we paid at the Not-So-Best Western.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel. The price was excessive, the rooms were poorly maintained, the food was poor, and the staff consistently made us feel unwelcome.

This is one of the cleanest motels in the area. For that, definitely recommend. But super disappointed that the Netflix feature of the TV has only worked 1 out of 4 times staying here. They have been saying it will get fixed 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hair dryer doesn't work and the kleenex box was empty. Pillows are flat, but the beds are decent.
Front desk has been super accommodating and went out of their way to accommodate our large group on super short notice. Rooms are nice and the standard breakfast was good. Good walking distance from lots of restaurants. Only complaint is the water pressure was a bit low on the second floor
