Very nice place . Clean rooms and friendly check in staff. My only complaint is someone had left crumbs on the counter from the free breakfast and the lady was irritated and had to wipe the counter down .

The two desk clerks took more than 10 minutes to check me in and out and we're very unfriendly. The hard floors allowed very noisy floor above me and some other residents were very loud. Did not have a very good experience for my first time at avid hotel. The hotel was very clean.

We are traveling from Oklahoma to Florida and had been driving all night when we stopped at AVID in West Memphis around 5:00 AM. We had already booked and PAID FOR a room in advance specifically so we could get some sleep before continuing our long drive. When we arrived, the front desk employee was incredibly rude and completely unhelpful. She was wearing an earbud, pulled it out, and asked, “Can I help you?” We explained that we had a reservation, only to be told that there had been a power outage and that their systems were down, so we could not access the room we had already paid for. Okay, things happen. Power outages happen. What is absolutely unacceptable is the complete lack of effort to help your guests when something goes wrong. We were basically given two options: wait until 7:00 AM for the manager to arrive and maybe figure something out, or leave and call the manager ourselves to figure out whether we would get a refund. That was it. No attempt to find another solution. No alternative accommodation. No real apology. No urgency whatsoever. And let’s be realistic: it was 5:00 AM. We had been driving all night. Most hotels aren’t even going to allow you to book and check into a room at that hour, which is exactly why we had planned ahead and paid for a room. We spent the next 20–30 minutes calling hotels in the area, exhausted, trying to figure out where we could go. Thankfully, we eventually reached a wonderful woman at the Radisson, who actually cared enough to work something out for us so that we could get some much-needed sleep before continuing our drive. What makes this even more frustrating is that the other hotels in the area were apparently operating despite the power outage. So what exactly was AVID’s plan for situations like this? There clearly wasn’t one. If your systems go down, is the answer really just to tell paying guests to leave at 5 AM and figure it out themselves? Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable customer service from AVID. I will not be staying at another hotel owned by Minesh Patel, and I would strongly recommend that anyone looking for a hotel in West Memphis consider the Radisson instead. We were treated significantly better there, and in our experience they had better service, better prices, and a MUCH better breakfast selection. AVID — and Mike, specifically — you need to do better. Treating guests who have already paid for a room like they’re an inconvenience, especially at 5 AM after they’ve been driving all night, is unacceptable. Things can go wrong. How you handle those situations is what matters. AVID completely failed us when we needed help the most.

Location was in a very dirty, unsightly area. Pillows very small and uncomfortable, room needed additional cleaning, staff not very friendly. Fruit flies around fruit and blackened over ripe bananas. Breakfast choices dried out and unappealing. Would not recommend.
