We arrived 5/21/26. We were happily greeted by the host, John. This is an older hotel about to go under some renovations. The first room assigned had an bad moldy, musty odor, it was dusty and not clean, not acceptable. John humbly apologized and gave us a little better room, still had a smell, older furniture still, bed was comfortable, bathroom little nicer but need updates. Warm chocolate chip cookies made by John himself and he called to check on us as well to make sure we were ok. He made himself available for anything else we would need, such as reactiving our room cards. Door lock has big gap, not sealed tight but we were tired and slept well that night. Thank you John!
1st day at breakfast, where we met the host Marlin. She gave the best hospitality! Very personable, ensuring all were taken care of, helping customers where needed. The food was all hot and delicious! 😋 We had link sausage browned oh sooo good! Biscuits were light n fluffy, gravy made just right. Fried Potatoes and cage free eggs. Warm cinnamon rolls and much more! Marlin made our breakfast much more enjoyable. She was busy making sure there was plenty of food, cleaning tables and things but she made time for us, letting us know about other good places to eat! Hopefully we will see her again b4 we leave Monday, she is a wonderful, friendly host! I say Holiday should give her a raise because she treated the folks with respect and extra kindness and this might keep people coming back!!! Thank you Marlin! I also want to give a big, big. thanks to Amy as well. She was kindly, very helpful and assisted us with our IHG rewards. Thank you Amy!!! We appreciated you.
IT'S THE WARM, KIND, PEOPLE THAT MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN OUR STAY AT AN OLDER HOTEL. THANK YOU STAFF!! HOLIDAY PLEASE RECOGNIZE YOUR GOOD STAFF!
Saturday and Sunday morning. Breakfast was not good. We were always waiting for food to be brought out the entire time. Bits n pieces of food at a time. Bacon burnt or too crispy n greasy. Biscuit tops burned, gravy was ok. We had a family reunion, lots of people but the hotel was not prepared. They should have had 2 or 3 hosts for breakfast. Our room always had that old musty odor no matter how much we cleaned and sprayed because my husband has allergies, he stayed congested and we had to leave the room for fresh air. They ran out of clean towels this evening and wanted us to return the dirty towels to be washed! What in the world!?
I left a note on our door for a special Cleaning because of the musty, stale, old odor. Upon our return to the room, they did a very good job of cleaning and refreshing our room. It smelled so, so much better! Kudos to the cleaning staff but this should have been done prior to our arrival. Again...cleaning staff did a wonderful job of cleaning today and I thank you very much!!
Monday morning, Marlin was back and breakfast was on point! Everything hot fresh and we didnt have to wait on food at all. She was a very nice friendly efficient host.
In the end, I spoke with Amy Barone, she was quite understanding. She wanted us to be satisfied. She discussed my issues with other management and I was compensated 2 days. Much appreciated. Again all the staff that I interacted with were kind, friendly and tried to help as best they could.
