- CBCJ BrownApr 22, 20261.0Caution!!! The floors are extremely squeaky!! I’m not exaggerating when I say you will hear every step the person takes in the room above yours. I fell asleep happy thinking I had paid for one of the better/more expensive hotels in the city. I woke up to extremely loud noises coming from the ceiling. I asked the front desk for a different room or a refund and they said no. Said it was full. I went up to the second floor and knocked on the door of the room directly above mine. He was a very small man. Maybe 140 pounds. Not like there was some heavy person jumping up and down. I asked him if he wouldn’t mind trying to keep it down. He invited me into his room and showed me that he could hear the floor creak when he walks around. He told me he would do his best to walk around as little as possible. I could still hear him but i was able to eventually fall asleep. People, I got lucky. The person above me was kind and reasonable. You might not get so lucky. If they don’t have a top floor room available I highly recommend avoiding this hotel. The front desk person said that several of the rooms/ceilings are being reinforced right now on the first floor. But they don’t mention anything when you check in. Either get a top floor room, wait until this place has been fixed (it’s now April 2026), talk to the person in the room above yours and pray they are okay with not walking in their own room, or avoid this place entirely.
