  This was an absolute nightmare! I booked my room through Priceline over two weeks ago. I called ahead to find out about cancelling one night because I have to leave earlier than expected. I was told there was nothing they could do. I was willing to take the loss, only to be checked into a room that smelled like mildew and when the front desk staff was informed, he checked me into yet another room that smelled horrible! The only plus about this was that he gave me no trouble giving my money back. I was tired from driving all day, and only wanted to get some rest before moving my son into his dorm. I feel that this property needs to shut down while renovating because this was awful!

  The staff at this location are absolutely outstanding - friendly, welcoming, and truly the best part of my stay. They mentioned that renovations are scheduled to begin next month, which is very much needed and long overdue. I noticed some reviews mentioning renovated rooms, but based on my experience, renovations have not yet started. It appears those reviews may be from the other SureStay location in Huntsville. As the Founder/CEO of a disability‑focused nonprofit, I pay close attention to accessibility and safety. The bathroom in my room does include ADA‑compliant features such as a lower sink/counter and an assist bar for entering and exiting the shower. However, the overall room layout is only minimally accessible. The space between the bed, wall, and TV shelf is tight and would be difficult for many guests with mobility challenges or those using mobility devices. For individuals who rely on wheelchairs, walkers, or scooters, I would recommend considering another property until renovations are complete. Regarding the room’s condition: the paint on the walls and ceiling is in poor shape, the carpet is overdue for replacement, and most surfaces had a sticky residue - likely from low‑quality cleaning products. The mirrors were smeared, and the bathroom counter is barely attached to the wall. The bathroom vent has a large brown stain, and the shower drips constantly. The bed is acceptable for a night, but not particularly comfortable. I did find a few dead bugs in corners, but none alive, which suggests pest control is at least effective. Still, the owner should not be waiting another month to begin renovations - the condition of the rooms warrants more urgency. Additionally, the website states that rooms include a microwave and mini fridge, but my room had neither. The room itself is very small, and again, only barely meets ADA expectations outside of the bathroom. The staff are wonderful, but the property itself needs significant improvement. I was hoping to be able to give them an outstanding review, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible. I’m sorry Best Western, but this location did not meet my expectations. I truly hope the upcoming renovations bring the property up to the standard the team deserves.

  The newly renovated rooms were so nice and welcoming! And the new owner added the perfect charm to the property!! We will definitely be back for our next trip! Thank you Nick and staff for making our stay perfect!
