I am writing to formally bring to your attention a deeply unacceptable experience I endured at check-in at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Huntsville Northeast on August 10, 2026, at approximately 10:00 PM.
Upon my arrival, the night manager, Jeff, was unable to locate my reservation. I waited patiently in the lobby for roughly 30 minutes before asking for an update on the situation. Rather than offering assistance or reassurance, Jeff dismissively told me to "have better patience" because the booking was made through a third-party site (Priceline). When I questioned this handling—given that IHG explicitly lists inventory on Priceline and accepts prepaid bookings through the platform—he dismissively responded that my payment went to Priceline, not IHG.
Instead of de-escalating a situation caused by a system or front-desk issue, Jeff proceeded to escalate matters in full view of other lobby guests. While physically withholding my room key, he threatened to call the police on me. I explicitly asked him to either proceed with calling the authorities or hand over my room key so I could go to my room. After texting on his personal phone, placing a call, and stating aloud that he "didn't want to deal with this," he eventually handed over my room key after several more tense and uncomfortable minutes.
The hostility, lack of professionalism, and public humiliation I experienced from a manager at this location are completely contrary to the service standards expected of the IHG brand.
I will definitely never return to a place like this.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Huntsville Northeast makes a strong first impression, and on this visit it delivered exactly the kind of stay that leaves you already planning your return. From the moment we booked online, everything felt easy and straightforward, and that smooth experience continued the moment we walked through the doors after a long drive. The night staff were fantastic—warm, efficient, and clearly committed to getting travelers settled quickly. Check‑in took only a moment, and before long we were in our king suite, grateful for a clean, spacious, and quiet room that made it simple to unwind.
The hotel feels fresh and modern, with a clean, well‑kept facility and décor that gives the space a comfortable, contemporary feel. Breakfast the next morning was exactly what you hope for in a hotel stay: hot, well‑prepared, and plentiful. The fresh‑brewed Costa Coffee was a standout, especially since I could enjoy as much as I wanted. The exercise room was nicely equipped, and stepping out for an early morning walk in the surrounding area was a great way to start the day. Even with the hotel appearing near capacity, parking was abundant and easy.
One of the best parts of this stay was the location. This was our first time in this part of Huntsville, and we appreciated how close the hotel was to the loved ones we were visiting. The area itself is calm and pleasant, with quick access to major roads that make exploring Huntsville simple. It’s a great spot for visiting year‑round, but spring and fall are especially appealing thanks to mild temperatures and the way the nearby nature areas come alive with color.
There are several attractions within a short drive that make this hotel a convenient base. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is one of Huntsville’s signature experiences, offering an incredible look at aerospace history. The Huntsville Botanical Garden is another highlight, especially beautiful during seasonal blooms. For those who enjoy history and culture, Downtown Huntsville offers museums, dining, and a walkable historic district. Even simple everyday conveniences. Restaurants, shops, and parks are close enough to make the stay feel effortless.
Every staff member we interacted with was kind, courteous, and genuinely welcoming. That consistency in service is what turns a good stay into a memorable one. We will absolutely return to this location the next time we’re in Huntsville visiting family.
