  Very clean and in good condition. The second building has larger rooms. There is no carpet in the rooms inside the second building.

  First of all, my in-laws lived in Fairhope for 16 years. Whenever we went to visit them, we always stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. We never had an issue staying there. A couple of years as we moved our mother-in-law to be near her son. We came back to Fairhope on 9.29.2026 to scatter her ashes. Of course, we made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express. We were shocked when we got to our room. There was mold on the window sill and the TV did not work. I also have seen a cleaner microwave and refrigerator. Went down to the desk and was able to get another room. The room was located on the first floor, next to the breakfast area and across from the elevator. We could hear people talking in the lobby. Turned on the bathroom fan and it sounded like it needed to be put out of misery. We knew we would not get any rest in that room, so we checked out. The clerk did refund our money, but we couldn’t believe how bad things had gotten since being there in 2 years. Never again will we stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Fairhope AL

  My room was seemed clean and was comfortable. Very quiet location which is helpful. The breakfast was decent-eggs, sausages pancake station etc. lots of options. Cons are the ice makers are all broken except one on the first floor - seems like they’re trying hard not to invest in upkeep And also I had a roach in my bathroom.

  We were greeted by the friendliest desk clerk ever! She genuinely appears to love her job! She provided us with a list of restaurants which was very helpful. The exterior of the hotel is showing its age. Rust stains running down from the AC units, stucco walls need a good power wash along with the sidewalks. The bathroom is extremely small, narrow and it is very difficult to move in the space. A large person would find it impossible to close the door. I have never seen such a small sink and so far back brushing your teeth is a sport! Do not like the vinyl flooring. The refrigerator had leaked so I used a towel to clean the floor and the towel was filthy! Appears the floors aren’t washed regularly. The floor is cold since there’s no carpeting. The furniture in the room was in decent condition but there was only one nightstand for a king size bed. The chair in the corner was uncomfortable and small. The bed linens were soft and some kind f the pillows were soft. Towels are your standard rough and thin hotel quality but at least they were clean without stains. The bed was not comfortable at all, they need to replace the mattresses. The AC unit kept shutting off so the room got really warm. Breakfast this morning was a total disappointment. The tables were all dirty. I had to use Purel to clean ours. The omelet eggs were overdone and the hard boiled eggs appeared to have been in the frig for weeks. They were all discolored. The fruit was not fresh. The breakfast area trash was full and the area didn’t appear clean. All in all the hotel is minimally adequate but due to the negatives we would not stay here again. The owner of this hotel did everything on the cheap including finishes, furniture, and beds. There are better choices and quality for the same price. Quite disappointing! We are staying two nights and if it wasn’t such a hassle we would leave. The only saving grace was a the evening staff at the desk. We would never stay here again!!!!!
