  Probably best hotel in Valdez, relatively low bar though. If there was a better option I would have rated this lower. Staff was nice but they smoked a few feet from our room and our room constantly smelled like smoke. No AC, so closing the window was not an option.

  Paid extra for a room with a harbor view and told them we were traveling with a pet. Apparently nobody checked the reservation details where it said "hey we're traveling with our dog" so there were no issues with the reservation until we finished our 6 hour drive to the hotel. We get there and all of a sudden their "pet friendly" rooms are on the other side of the hotel with zero harbor view. Feels like we got bait-and-switched. Typical apathetic tourist town level of accommodation and customer service. Nobody cares because there's always gonna be someone else in line willing to give them money. Just take what they give you and deal with it.

  Let me save you from also being deceived by the very polished photos on this and other booking websites. The bathroom was so rusty that I didn’t even take a shower. The rooms are beyond outdated. And there is a certain dinginess to the entire building. I paid $280 for one night and the hotel wasn’t even full - I wish I had slept in the car instead. The saving grace for this hotel is its bucolic waterfront location.

  Bad rooms, poor service, expensive. $300+ for a night for a small rundown room without AC. Had the worst sleep in a hotel so far, I was burning hot in the middle of the night because the heater was on even though it was set off. My view from the window was just shipping containers blocking everything a couple feet away. The bathroom was cramped and small. All the panels In the shower were loose barely holding on and the knob to turn the shower on was nearly impossible to get working. The "included" breakfast was just rehydrated food warmed by heat lamps in a separate closed off room, NOT the restaurant with a view, that part was closed off which wasn’t ever mentioned. And to top all that, while checking out the person out front was incredibly rude. Mad at me for trying to check out and do their job. Like they were questioning why I was even there. Stay away and find a cheaper place.
