- CKCarilee KitchenerAug 15, 20265.0I don’t even know how to properly review Moose Landing because 5 stars honestly doesn’t cover it. I came to Alaska expecting an adventure. I did NOT expect to find a family who would basically take me under their wing and help make this one of the best trips I’ve ever had. From the minute I arrived, they went above and beyond for me — and I mean ABOVE AND BEYOND. They helped me with absolutely everything I needed, and not just during the days I was staying with them. They helped with my entire trip. Questions, plans, fishing, where to go, what to do… I’m pretty sure at some point I just started assuming they could solve all of my problems. 😂 And then there were the experiences. Fishing. Fresh salmon. Oysters and wine by a fire on the river. Wildlife. Gorgeous Alaska scenery. The kind of moments you can’t exactly order when you book a cabin — they just happen because you’re staying with genuinely wonderful people. As for the actual accommodations: 100% clean, safe and comfortable. The cabin was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and as a woman traveling through Alaska, feeling safe and taken care of meant a lot to me. But the family is what makes this place special. You can book a beautiful cabin anywhere. You cannot book people who genuinely care whether you are having an amazing trip. I left Moose Landing feeling like I had experienced a little piece of the REAL Alaska instead of just visiting it. I have traveled quite a bit, and I can honestly say I have never had a better trip. Moose Landing and this family were a huge reason why. If you’re trying to decide whether to stay here — BOOK IT. And if you don’t have as much fun as I did, I really don’t know what to tell you. 😂 Thank you for taking such incredible care of me and for giving me memories I will never forget. ❤️ Alaska already had my heart… but you guys pretty much sealed the deal.

Moose Landing not only provided cabin accommodations BUT helped with guide services for both sockeye salmon AND off-shore fishing out of Homer. Will definitely stay here again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
